I am introducing rule to myself to 'no posts besides in-game meaning'. I will try to avoid threads and posts no matter how answer inducing because I think I start to realize how time and power wasteful meta is.
Issue with meta is...we are all trying to be too clever for own good. Games are meant to be fun. When I forget these forums exist, these arguments about credits per hour exist, games are beautiful. Exciting. Interesting. Challenging. They can make me angry, they can make me cry, they can make me feel solitude, or pity.
Meta is all about beating something, with all available legal and illegal methods. I have seen things and experienced things in my life that this approach feels....fake. It feels like people do not play games, they play life. They have to prove they are better. But that you do in REAL LIFE.
Not in game. It almost feels like sometimes that you are trying somehow 'win' real life in game. But that's not how it works. None of that works that way.
There's some spirit of competition of course. But if you haven't realized yet that ED is one of least game where competition matters, where your actual competition is you yourself...you haven't gotten it and might never do.
I just feel that it is very indicative that very few people post something positive. Because they are out there, playing game, working in groups, enjoying limited time they have in game. I will try to concentrate on that. I know there's lot of people I disagree with but I have lot of time to debate it, there are people who agree with me but not all the time - and I certainly have enjoyed my time. But I think it is time to draw the line for myself.
I am gonna enjoy game for what it is. Will check in on updates and relevant information, will upvote some posts, but won't do posts on my own unless it is in-lore/in-game. Take care and have fun.
