The Nile Monitor habitat is thriving, seemingly the animals enjoy Nakagawa River. Although we got more adults than recommended, five adult males and four females, currently we see no fights for domination. It will off course happen sooner rather than later, then the largest male Nur will be kept, so will pregnant Jamila and younger female Iman

The last imported Giant Otter, Evita died from old ago, a little more than 14 years old. Now we just got one female left and four males, all animals born here. Time to look for new blood. Found a nice strong lady Piedad, born in “Zoo of the earth”, currently in quarantine.

In the Black and White Lemur habitat “Nyantsa” became the dominant female. Under her leadership, the population is thriving and growing. Mainly due to 10 years old “Lalaina” love affair with 5 years younger new male “Tsiraka” bought from Sunny Zoo. Already resulting in four new babies. Currently there are 22 animals in the habitat, 9 youngsters and 13 adults, but soon some will get released into the wild and a few sold to other zoos. As we expect to get a variation of Lemur spices in the habitat, over the coming months.

A late-night snack gathers most Lemurs around the feeding platform.

9 years old adult female “Polina” was born in the Danish rescue center, she has already given birth to “Ludmila” the female in the other habitat, and she is pregnant again.

The cave is used only if its nice weather, the animals use the house in the back of the habitats when the cave is wet.

10 years old adult male “Evgenii” was born here, in the old habitat. So far he haven’t produced any cubs.

The cub in the habitat “Asinat” does not belong to either of the adults. She was born in Denmark, but soon after her father died and her mother was sold to another zoo. She is tolerated by both adults, although she may not get the attention, she could get from a mother.

Would only take until the 12th of June, before “Polina” gave birth to two babies, a girl “Huìyang” and a boy “Hàorán”. Making “Evgenii” father for the first time.

After long and hard negotiations with Trop Africa America, Ultramar and other zoos, we managed to get five new lemurs of good health and size. The two ring tailed and three red ruffed lemurs share the habitat with the twelve black-and-white ruffed lemurs, who was already there.

The female “Lana” is a little more than 5 years old. She is the daughter of “Polina” from the 1st. habitat and was also born in the Danish rescue center. She already had two cubs, both sold to other zoos. Although the couple just met a few months ago, she is already pregnant.

It is now about 2 years since the leopards was moved out of the original habitat. Zoo staff and construction workers have been working hard transforming the habitat to fit the new residents. Three Western Lowland Gorillas. The basic concept of the old habitat was kept, but all flora was replaced, the habitat was widened and a large cave was constructed to shelter the monkeys.

The 12 years old silver back “Ibrahim” was born in born in Sahara Zoo, acquired by Tamichan Franchise Zoo’s about two years ago, and first located in Denmark with the two adult females of his small family group. “Nanyamka” acquired from Lily Conservation and “Chéckina” rescued from illegal private trade and brought to Denmark. Baby ape “Bamboula” is close to five months old, the son of “Ibrahim” and “Chéckina”.

In the Asian Small-Clawed Otter habitat, the dominant couple are children of the original otters, from the first population in the habitat. “Baskoro” is quite strong and healthy, but he is 11 years old and will most likely not have that many years left. The dominant female is several years younger “Wening”, sadly they share the same mother, but at least the father is different. The zoo keepers are worried about the future of the habitat, as the population haven’t grown significantly over the years, inbreeding will be a problem in the future and it is quite hard to acquire new healthy animals. The youngest member of the family group is two months old “Cahya”, with him we got eight Asian small-clawed otters.

The population in the Lemur Habitat, had grown to a point where an extension was needed, even though we have tried to release or sell many animals. Having three rather fertile species in the same relatively small enclosure was too much. The habitat was extended with a new shelter in form of a traditional Japanese House Ruin and a small shallow water puddle, some new trees and bushes was also added.

The dominant male Orangutan "Dumadi", was replaced with 16 years younger and stronger "Basuki". The downside is, that he might not be as fertile as his predecessor, in any case the replacement will work against inbreeding. Another female "Kemun", was also acquired from Frontier Franchise Zoo’s.

In the West African Lion habitat, “Bejide” have become too old to breed, but to protect her cubs, we have desided to let her stay. The white lioness “Abeo”, have born her first three cubs. Two girls “Naadia” and “Naaima” and one boy “Nahran”.

“Nahran” and “Naaima” sleeping close to their mother, behind her “Naadia”. In the background two years older “Aida” is already playing.
