Tangent, Going off on a

So, a few days ago, for no better reason than 'just because, ok?' - and stone cold sober to boot! - I sold my beloved Cobra, bought a Vul-CHA, & went wobbling around civilised space with the 'purpose' of fully pimping it, & getting in some combat practice with a bit of gentle RES-farming.

After finally discovering that there ain't no such beast as a Class 3 gimballed multi-cannon, and that the C3 g Beam Laser is rarer than an honest politician, last night I sold the V & bought another C.

Now I'm in the middle of a 2nd aimless wobble as I build the C back up to where I had her before.

With one wrinkle:

I'm now armed with a more balanced load-out, consisting of C1 & C2 g beams, & C1 & C2 g multis.

- Only need to find an A4 FSD (A3) & A4 Shield Jenny (B4) now & I'm hot to trot :D

I'm still to truly master FA-Off combat, my hands are still a little 'lumpy' on the keys of the X-52 Pro, & I'm yet to even attempt any sneaky stuff with 'Customs & Excise' but I'm happy with the progress that I've made in the last 2 months.

The stats don't lie!

It's a big, mean, unforgiving universe out there & I am but a fledgling Knight of the Cosmos, struggling out of squiredom & earning the right to a steed of my own & gaining the confidence to choose my own path.

I give thanks for, and blessings to, all those people who give of their time & energy to ensure that commanders both new & 'seasoned' have an alternative option to only learning from their own mistakes. As I do also for those who make & run the digital tools, information sources & comms platforms which bring such scope & depth to the FD Universe. And to the creators of that Universe, blessed be their great & unknowable plan for we mere mortals ;)

Next goals - get headtracking working reliably & learn in-game voice comms. Then join or form a wing.

Maybe one day I might even start taking powerplay seriously!

There's a post in the VR discussion about using an iphone for head tracking. It costs a whopping $2 to set up if you've already got an iphone. It works great from my experience. Glad to see other people just enjoying the game for what it is. Have a rep.

Thank you :D

I started using FreePIE & EDtrack with an old Galaxy Y, but it 'stopped working' just before 1.3 dropped & I've never got around to sorting it yet. Next on my list after I find an A4 FSD, the last of my 'missing pieces'. Just tooling around hi-tec worlds looking for one, doing a bit of RES farming on the way to pay the bills.

*I wouldn't have an Iphone if you paid me*
