PvP Target lock breaker apa nerf when?

Just reminding devs that they dont have to wait 1 year to nerf obviously overpowered like every time. This weapon makes big ships useless unless you got all fixed/turreted weapons.

maybe give it cooldown that it deserves

can you explain to me how do you not get hit by pa in big 3, thanks

Its not a matter of flying the wrong ship, its that interesting game mechanics are either shouted down or ignored.

My peeve is giant shield tanks that are impossible to crack. The general counter to them is heat, but heat got nerfed to hell, taking HRPs and MRPs with them. People now simply fly with huge shields.

Gimbals should be tempered with what sensor grade you use, so A grade would provide better chaff resistance but would be heavier- so balancing the advantages with sensible downsides.

Special effects do need to be looked at, but what happens is that they get hit way too hard and die, leaving one or two that have any use at all. They are also wacky ways to solve problems when simpler more rational ones would do.

I bet your problem is not the TLB, but the fact that you being outflown and hit from the side/back by a FAS/FDL that flies exclusively FA OFF.

The big 3 MUST be flown FA off, and make sure you have good roll on your DD5, your turn rate is important. Your primary goal is to face tank the smaller ship, while his goal would be trying to get behind you.

When not facing him, in FA OFF, pips 2-4-0, boost while pitching until facing him, 4-0-2, keep firing even if loosing lock, try to refocus right away, again - 2-4-0 boost FAOff, dont let him fly behind you.

With FA OFF you will be drifting alot, you will have him in your sight for much longer time.

Unless its APA with rapid fire, you should be ok.

giving it 5 second cooldown is making it hammered to the floor ?

also oh look, its another one of those "you fly the wrong ship, there needs to be more FDL in suprcruise at cg"

Before TLB, big ships were literally invincible in PvP. Huge shields meant you could just sit there with 4 pips and gimbals and dish out a ton of damage while doing literally nothing and just leave when you were in danger. Now, there is a counter to that and people are that they have to learn to fly their ships. Put fixed weapons on your ship and it doesn't matter. Fly a different ship, and it doesn't matter. Don't lobby to nerf an effective weapon because you want to be a lazy pilot.

you dont have to start lecturing me about how to pvp, i have been doing it for at least a year or two by now, in all ships, ranging frim courier to cutter, and my point is that there is no reason to fly big 3 at all when your chances to beat medium ship are innefficent if you are in big ship, ugh

Sorry, based on your initial post and gimbals seemed like you are a quincer with a conda. I assumed :)

Maybe you can share a video proving your case with TLBs?

Nothing wrong with TLB, they sacrifice the extra fire power from other effects just so you loose focus for a second. Its balanced. APAs also have lower damage due to increase in frequency.

i got ton of videos on my channel but ill try to capture fresh one someday then post it here

today i got jumped by 2 fdl, both of them had target lock apa, you would think that 1 big ship vs 2 medium would be fair ? lol no if you have to relock target 4 times in single second

Oh no, 2 Fdls? Run away. You will die, even 1 FDL can give you troubles tbh.

Apa on fdl? That’s a waste of a huge hardpoint!
Basically they’re forgoing a big chunk of their damage pontential to lay on the effect. I’d get it on a Vulture or FAS but seems like a hefty compromise for the fdl.

I'd like to know why chaff doesn't fill the roll as a hard counter to gimbals anymore.....

Because shield strength increased a couple hundred % but you only get 5 more chaff. 1v1s in PvP fit ships routinely last 20+ minutes, and chaff only lasts 6 minutes if you have 2 sets of ammo modded chaff.

While we re at it, we need to buff phasing weapons and make them scale withp the total hull hp of the targeted ship
