Targoids technology? Any info?

Is there any info (from previous games too) about targoids technology? How they living, social structure? I know that they should looks like a big ants but that is all...

Thargoids are folklore in the original Elite and can be read about in the original Elite Novel that shipped with the BBC version of the game. Not much is known but I do know they all have their fear glands removed at birth or at least a very young age. They never run from any fight! Watch yourself out there ;-)
