CQC teams in Free For All :( and low ranked players dropping out

I really like CQC. I do not play often but its not because I have an issue with it, however I did have some issues at the weekend, and just curious if it is the norm.

1) in a few of my games it was clear there were some friends playing together as they were flying together and blitz attacking. This is good co-op play for TEAM deathmatch but is pretty unfair imo for the people on their own. There is a reason it is called Free For All... Or do you guys thing this is fair game? I myself have played FFA with a mate a few times... but it has always been with the intention to blow him up ;) anything else seems not cricket imo

2) I think some worry about KD ratios too much. I am farily low rank, maybe level 25 or so, and was waiting for ages with 3 or 4 in the group, and the amount of time 2 or 3 low level players would drop in, and I would thinking "excellent" time to go!... and then they would drop out again........ presumably because there were one or 2 really high level players with golden emblems in there :(

The thing is, does it really matter what your KD is? surely it is better to play, even if you lose, than just to wait in a lobby? I admit for the 1st 6 months of CQC I felt like i was good at hte game, it is nice having a good K/D however those times are long gone and i am lucky to hold my own these days, but so what? with nothing to lose and everything to gain, but only by playing, the worst thing about CQC imo is stitting waiting for players.

Hi Mike,

I am not sure if you are talking about our group as there are more of them out there. As far as our group is concerned we are a) open to anybody b) we chase ourselves keeping lowbies alone unless a particular one kills somebody repeatedly or they just happen to be on the wrong place in the wrong time. Although there are a few players like that. By no means we group for the purpose to hunt newbies. In fact many members leave after several matches against newbies only as not to grief them and we often take inferior ships when we are together and there are lot of newbies in the game. We have fun together on Discord while killing each other. And whenever possible we got to TDM or occationally to CTF. You would need to name some commanders in order to identify if it was us. Oh and there was a community competition for prices this weekend, maybe you were on the wrong place in the wrong time.

As for the question if it's a rule, it really depends. For me a great change was when I met the people I played against on Discord. Now we play together even when we shoot each other.

I wouldn't say CQC is full of evil griefing elitists. You are just unlucky sometimes.

I think I've only seen that once before. A sidewinder who had a friendly eagle waiting in the wings. My experience with the players of CQC, as Sowelu indicates above is that they are an honourable group.

Hi

Dont take me wrong, this was not aimed at anyone, and i was not using the "G" word. I cant remember names and even if I did i would not name and shame because forum rules and all that. I played a number of CQC games last weekend so if you saw me then "hello" :) and do not think this is aimed at you (unless you were flying around as a team :p ).

PS i have no issues hunting noobs, hell compared to most i am one myself, if i see a ship i shoot it, and do not concern myself with levels... it is the best way to learn imo.

I think teaming up in NOT team deathmatch is lame as it is for lone wolves (or friends playing together happy to fight each other) but I would not go as far as to say it is griefing.
