Teamwork in a Wing [Noob Question]

So, I've introduced some mates to ED, and they've started working together in a wing.

I'm still at work and won't be flying home for a couple of days - so, when I get back, I want to hook up with them in a wing and see if we can just mess around with some bounty hunting - just for poops and chuckles.

I'm hoping someone with some wing experience can help me with the following:

  • How is the bounty distributed between wing-mates?
  • Can we specialise our weapon loadouts - i.e. one ship take down the shields with energy weapons, and then another guy go in with the kinetics?
  • Do we all need to have our own KWS on each of our ships, or does one ship scanning with the KWS share the inter-system data?
  • One guy can interdict and then the others just drop in on the action, right?

Sorry for my ignorance. My actual in-game experience is very sporadic due to my job - I'm lucky to play for 4 or 5 days per month. So I gain my Elite Dangerous experience vicariously through all of you beautiful people here on the Forum and in the world of YouTube :D

Bounties are shared between all players that have shot at and hit a target. So if there's an 8000 grand bounty and 4 of you hit it thats 2K each.

KWS will increase bounty for everyone so you only need one in your group.

If you interdict an NPC your mates need to jump into your wake OR you turn on your Wing Beacon when they go close enough FSD will drop you out automatically. Players in a wing need to engage wingman nav lock on you then you'll all be together, providing the servers are playing ball always best to login at the same time I find this minimises communication and sync issues.

How you custom weapons is upto you! me and my friends generally have one guy with loads of hull damage and the rest are lasers.... depends what you are hunting in a wing of 4 I'd go for Haz Res Sites or Comp Nav Beacons for the most money but harder difficulty, you could try Strong Signals but they vary.

If you land at stations you can roughly take the same missions with varying difficulty and rewards depending on your rep best to compare mission name and objectives via Skype or Team Speak etc. Missions are getting a big change so they could be a big earner for wings in 1.5/Horizons.
