Teamwork

I'm not sure if this is how to make a new topic but I'm trying it out. I love the game and I want to see more teamwork. I am currently applied to a group outside the game but I would also like to form short term partnerships with people online who have similar immediate interest. Sharing bounties and cargo haul profits would be cool. Perhaps a large freighter wants protection and offers a percentage of the profit. Just throwing it out there.

Wings and other expanded social tools are supposedly coming sometime in January, so you are not alone, and the devs are aware and working on it.

Thanks. I can't get enough of this game! I'm excited to see what improvements they come out with next.

Regrettably convoy protection is currently impossible, since NPC interdictions are by ships only visible to the target. However, I've had lots of fun times helping others complete missions, or completing missions with the aid of others.

You can see one example here - https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showthread.php?t=88245&p=1387348#post1387348

Multiplayer cooperative support is somewhat primitive. We do need sharing bounties and missions that are able to be group-completed. But it is possible to have fun with what we currently have while we wait for more.

glad i found this before i made a new thread.

as mentioned, there are group-play elements coming in the near future so i'd just like to toss some ideas on the table that might make the experience more inclusive to those grouped.

BOUNTY HUNTING

when grouped up, the party(leader) will have to register in a station with the local security contact. doing so gives the party equal share of all bounties claimed based on the number of people in the group. larger groups means better chances of taking down larger targets, earning larger bounties. win-win for all. teamwork/cooperation amongst players who might otherwise struggle alone. this also opens up a possible new feature - Wolfpack Request Boards (yeah, i just totally made that up...) players in a system/station can register their names on the boards up to a certain number decided on by whoever is trying to make the wolfpack, this can be tiered based on target type (small ship, large ship, or player {pvp} bounties) to prevent trolling/exploiting, all bounties are split at the time of the target's destruction. if a pack member dies, their profits are forfeited (or they can be divvied amonst the surviving members, but this could lead to one member turning on the rest to steal their shares. one could say that the turncoat could then be penalized and forfeit their share as well, but as we all know, friendly fire; accidental or otherwise, is very unforgiving in this game at present and if an accidental shot costs you 45 minutes of bounties earned... i think its obvious where this is headed.)

mining, trade, escorting, and exploration could be treated, more-or-less the same.

THOUGHTS?

This would be phenomenal. I've convinced two other friends to play the game and while we're all on Skype or using in-game comms, we can't effectively play together because nothing is shared or split, and buying cargo to then dump it so that your buddy can pick it up and sell it at another station for a profit is awkward and an unnecessary hurdle to jump over. I hope the grouping features come early in January, and that larger player associations (guilds of sorts) become possible to create and manage as well.

sounded like more than 1 idea in my head...

well... was more like ONE idea, but... you get the idea...
