Tech and Game Control Assitance

Greetings CMDR's,

Long time ED player here who would like to draw on some of the combined knowledge here, whilst I'm waiting to find out how long I have to wait for my CV1 to arrive.
I have a couple of questions, one regarding suitable upgrades for my PC and other for setting up controls for ED for use in VR.

First the tech. I am in the middle of a rolling upgrade of a 2.5yr old Dell XPS8700, with bits been upgraded when money allows. The current setup is:

Processor: Intel i7 4770 @ 3.4GHz
Memory: 16GB of DDR3 ram (came with the PC, so prob only average quality)
GFX Card: Asus Strix GTX 980Ti
Power Supply: Seasonic X series 850W Gold
Motherboard: Original Dell, quite hard to find specs for, but prob fairly average.
Case: Coolermaseter Cosmos SE

The final aim is to have a system running two 980 ti's in SLI (but currently thats a fair way in the future).
I now want to replace the motherboard and memory, and am somewhat lost as to the best replacements. For the motherboard I am currently leaning towards one of these.
But any other suggestions would be appreciated. For the memory I have no idea whatsoever, apart from heading towards the most expensive and shiny stuff.

Second question is regarding controls. I am currently using a combination of HOTAS and Voice Attack for flight and keyboard and mouse for the menus etc. Since im assuming keyboard and mouse use will be difficult with the headset on, what do you guys use?
I've tried mapping the menu controls to the HOTAS, but found it non-intuitive to use, and frankly a pain, so any alternatives would be appreciated.

Go to cpuid.com and download cpuz. That should give motherboard and memory details.

Don't buy that second 980ti just yet. A lot of vr games don't support sli very well. If your motherboard and ram is good enough you might bebetter off saving that money, buying a pascal card once they're available and ebaying your 980ti
