Technical Question

So I have been playing this game for a while now, and ever since I installed it I've noticed one thing that has kinda bothered me. It's not about the game itself it's about the Launcher.

When I load the launcher it's running off my computers GPU .. the launcher .. I find this odd and I don't understand the logic behind it. So if someone can A) tell me if it's normal and B) Why, that would be great.

Is this on a laptop with a CPU on-board GPU and a separate (e.g. NVidia) GPU?
Are you saying the launcher runs with the NVidia GPU rather than the on-board one?
That's how my laptop runs ED.
I guess it's so that when the main game is launched it too is using the NVidia GPU.
I did play around with a while ago and I settled on this being the best setting for me and this laptop.
You can kill the launcher after the main game is running if you want as well, never done it myself though.

There used to be a lot of complaints from Optimus laptop owners about the game running on the integrated Intel graphics. Perhaps running the launcher on the discrete GPU ensures that the game -- a child process -- also runs on the Nvidia card.

It does it on both my Optimus laptops. It doesn't really affect performance.
