Hi,
#
Just to give you a bit of background, I've been playing casual-ish since launch slowly accumulating credits and bit by bit getting the ship upgrades to jump to the next level till someday I will get to the ship I've wanted since day 1.
Yesterday all that went from that to basically sending me back to the beginning after getting the Python and my graphics card deciding it was going to die... and here's how it happened.
#
I'd bought my ship and hour previous and after I had saved all that week I had enough for all the major upgrades... plus insurance, cargo and a little extra.
I was coming into dock as I have done the past thousand times when my game was dumped to the desktop with "your display driver had stopped working and recovered", I tabbed back in to find my mouse wasn't reacting and keys simply gave me a 'ding' sound... so I couldn't even slow. I could see the station coming up and there was very little time... so I alt-tabbed two or three times before the game gave me mouse control but no the crash happened and I cost me a few million for my troubles.
#
The card had never done that before so I simply rebooted and continued with my game, a few hours later and a few failed runs researching new routes and I had probably broke even, given as the jump range and fuel is an absolute killer in the python... and suddenly it began to happen again, this time I was almost destroyed at %5 hull in flames and a cracked cockpit I managed to drag my sorry back into the station and pay another 1.5m in repairs. I logged for the afternoon and reinstalled the latest drivers and played a bit of rift and bf4 to test it out... was fine.
#
Later that day I though I'd fixed the possible problems, bearing in mind no other game had reproduced the issue, and continued my work (you can probably see where this is going).
Well at this point I had lost around 3-4 million and I had made about 500k... was very low on funds and it was getting to the point fuel was outweighing the goods so I was going to have to try one last run to dig myself out of trouble or sell the ship... lose a little cash and save up in a type 7 again... and just like magic as I was approaching the station on the return trip it struck again this time destroying the ship and loosing the cargo and essentially sending me back to the beginning kicking as screaming.

Well obviously had ruined the weekend at this point so I put in a ticket hoping that they would see its no fault of my own, and in the mean time do some serious hardware testing.
Five hours later, after reloads and a loan graphics adapter I had a reproducible problem and yes my poor old card had a terminal condition, it is still within warranty... so at least I had that.
#
About half 11 I had a message, which I had missed by an hour from technical support saying they had assisted with my problem, and although we are still in process of sorting it that on this one occasion they would be willing to help.
So essentially almost same day they had read the ticket and helped me out of the brink of a very painful lesson, so I thought since we had so much bad press about technical support I wanted to show they aren't all bad... and in this occasion responded at 11:30 on a Saturday... which to be honest is simply awesome... I was sure it was going to be Monday at the very least if I was very lucky!!!

Thanks technical support for your help in saving my sorry a**, much appreciated!
Most scenarios involving tickets its only the unhappy people posting, obviously some genuine issues, the happy ones get straight back to
gaming probably without a seconds thought, so hopefully this job will be read by others and taken in the nature it was intended.
