Techno babble

You can fix that right up by firing a inverse tachyon beam into the quantum singularity. Then your positronic calculations are nullified by the reciprocating cascade failure of space-time.

Oh: and weapons to maximum. People love that.

I wish I was English like my hero Tj.
Techno babble was actually kind of cool (at least to me) in Next Gen. It reached epic proportions in Voyager.

Of course Voyager had plenty of other issues, lol.

Even with a detailed physics simulation in a game, though, I don't see how you could ever integrate TV-style technobabble. Would certainly be interesting, though. lol.

So long as the communitron wave inducers line up with the tetralium field array along the negative polarity axis, I don't see how this could work.

"particle of the week' bothered me..

'oh noz, whats stopping our engines? 'its the 'spins the wheel' particle, which our borg, or trader, or Indian via his spirit guide must help us find on this next world full of xenophobes who will misinterpret a sneeze as an act of war'.. did I miss anything?

While I regret enjoying it through the first time, there are very few of them I can rewatch, Ive not seen more than 10 of them twice since then.
unlike the b5's, seen them (the series) 14 times since new, and even ds9, 3 times.

Scotty whats that?
Its a plot device, captain!

Classic Eddie Murphy stand up sketch on this. Be warned it's early 80s and a bit x rated

Edit

On second thoughts perhaps too x rated. I'll leave anyone to youtube it for themselves if they want to.

Being a largely British game, I think most engineering solutions will be down to the judicious use of a hammer. For the trickier stuff, a screwdriver perhaps.

And tea.

If you really wanted to increase immersion, the crew member could first mutter a bit, say they're still on a break for the next ten minutes and then expect overtime payment.

The problem is implementation. Elite is an action game not an RPG, technobabble is easy to do in an RPG but a lot harder in an action game.

In an RPG you just make a skill roll and beat the target, whatever technobabble goes with the roll is irrelevant.

What do you do in an action game? Hit the reverse polarity button?
