General / Off-Topic Teens react to Win95 !

https://youtu.be/8ucCxtgN6sc

Am I the only one who's scared by this ?

I mean I started using windows 95 when I was 12 years old !

12 years old !!!!!!!!!!!! And knew how to use it ! And if I didn't knew something either I experimented with the computer or just read the manual.

Can really teens today be so blissfully ignorant ! I mean, I was screaming at my computer when a kid asked how could this had internet if there is no Wifi !

WHAAAAAAAAAT !!!!!!!!!![mad]:mad::eek::mad:[mad]

Please tell me that your kids are more educated than this !

please ! Otherwise I fear humanity is doomed ! :(

Sadly humanity is doomed to forget every technology that they are not used to use. It's sad but every generation has it's own "specials".
Just ask my mates at work how they use their new smartphones. These 60 year olds just can't use it but they can show me their stuff from 40 years ago xD

Maybe they have better things to do with there time than take selfies and play candy crush.

They weren't thrown by using Start to shut the PC down which people (probably Mac users) used to claim was incredibly counter-intuitive. I had forgotten that we had to switch the actual PC off afterwards though.

It is disturbing how much I had forgotten though... my children have barely seen a CRT screen anywhere and even devices that aren't touchscreens have confused them. The separate power button was another thing most of us just took for granted (we still tend not to leave our monitor on standby at home anyway) but I'll always remember getting a call from a very intelligent work colleague who could not get their computer to work and solved his issue by turning the monitor on.

I don't really remember how and when accessing the internet stopped being a pain in the backside too. There isn't much I would happily go back to anyway.

Did you also learn how to distil Whisky?

Had to bump this just to say that in Biology lessons at school in 1983 (I was 11) we not only learned how to make orange wine, we actually made it and then many weeks later drank it. Just imagine the local newspaper articles, professional sanctions, governors investigations and so on that would follow from that incident these days. :D

We live in a strange period. Indeed, it is natural to make our wine and distill our whiskey. The authentic values are lost

:D
