General / Off-Topic Terminator the ..... what? đŸ˜³

Yes, it's a strange new world. Apparently the modern Lords of Commerce and Industry cannot sell a thing unless someone else has already sold it before and made it famous. Wonder how anything ever got done before brand recognition.
Well, they had to make a good product and then it sold itself. :)

If a product didn't sell, in the past, the management went: "okay, how do we make our product better?"
It a product doesn't sell nowadays, the management goes: "okay we're going to have to put another half a billion into marketing."

Then again, in the past, customers weren't sheep, so...

Yes they were.
Good films were earning money and bad ones were failing.
Today, film's financial success is directly proporcional to the marketing budget.

There always were gullible and stupid people. But I suggest there was much more common sense, around.

Good sci-fi has always done badly because its a bit niche, if it gets popular it usually gets bad. The second and third Matrix films prove that.

Tripe has always had mass popularity, precisely because its made with the masses in mind. There was a time when Hollywood musicals were the behemoths of film. Hardly a demonstration of taste by the viewing public.

It seams like Hollywood is lacking good writers and producers, almost all products are awful remakes with no story, horrible CGI and 3rd grade castings. Plus the force fed political agendas that really no matter what side of the isles you are should be left out. That is why I like series and movies that describe a character, good or bad they need to be well written, remember breaking bad? In my opinion a great show, and the ending was a mix of good and bad. It was great to see they finished it off in that way.

Today all our super heroes/ villains are reduced to a silly meme, they lack debt and vision could just be a part of a commercial for a washing machine or another home device. If I want to see a good movie I look for old movies, rarely will you find a good new movie however when i do find one I will be the first to let you know.

I think the best writes have migrated to TV Shows... There have never been so much high-quality tv shows as today (there is a lot of crap too, but still many good shows, more than have ever been). Movies are now the McDonalds of screen entertainment. Their golden age were from the 80's to early 00's...

In the last decade there were only 3 movies I truly enjoyed: Moon, Cloud Atlas and the new Blade Runner movie.

Yes blade runner 2 was really a surprise, it’s not that there are no good movies anymore, it’s just they are rare. One movie I cross my fingers for are Top Gun 2 the trailer looks good and well let’s see. Rambo 5 also looks like it’s true to the past, kick A## macho movie.

Thanos was a pretty good villain in Infinity Wars, I thought. Too bad they watered him down so badly in the sequel
