Terra Velasquez - no communication after the required missions
why is this still happening? I was really excited about playing this game now it has legs. this just adds more grind to the game .... very disappointing maybe FDEV should add a mission counter to the HUD, within the pilot info section maybe? is this a common issue? it's a shame as have...

It say's Theft and covert. Have done 4 or 5 of each and 10 larceny missions to boot. I have spent about 3 - 4 days trying to get this unlock.
I do not like being devious goes against my nature. I wish there were other ways to unlock these features.
But Killing people seems to be the only option.
I have Grade 5 weapons now (long range rifle, rocket launcher, hand gun) with most of the mods i need. Including Grade 5 Dominator, Grade 3 Mavrick.
Just want the night vision and the scope now.

There are already multiple threads on this topic. Engineering unlock is bugged. It is a kind of meta RNG grind to get your covert missions even counting towards the goal, and we still don't know if it should be 6 in total (CM wrote it that way) or 6 thefts + 6 heists (support responded that way to a user).
I'd suggest to stop grinding towards this engineer unlock and wait for the bug to be fixed. Alternatively, you can give in to the meta grind and try as many covert heists as you can get. I'm sitting at 7 thefts and 8 heists (all covert, all successful, ofc) and never got the invite. Perhaps it unlocks after 20 heists or so for me, who knows.
The good thing is: after around the 10 mission mark, covert gets super easy because you know what you are doing. The bad thing is: after around the 10 mission mark, covert gets super easy and thus boring as hell. At least it is a nice opportunity to murder a whole settlement and loot it.

Thanks I did not know about the bugged unlock. As to the murder whole settlement and raid it for mat's ect. Yes Sussed that.
As to boring yea, just a bit. I think I will do mining instead never done much of that other Eng. UNLOCKING.
it's difficult but doable. I unlocked her after doing 6 covert heist and 6 covert theft missions specifically. Best option is to go to a station, pick up 2 covert theft or heist missions, complete them, then return to the same station and repeat the process, because by then there will typically be 2 more missions to pick up again. make sure to keep track on a notepad which ones you have completed. Repeat this and you should be done. Best stations to find covert theft and heist missions for me were outpost stations for me. once you finish 6 heists, only pick up thefts, and vice versa.
I've done 6 Covert Heist, 7 Covert Theft, no unlock. Validated files, multiple relogs. Nothing. Added to Issue Tracker and Fdev hasn't confirmed the thread for over a month (originated 31 Aug) https://issues.frontierstore.net/issue-detail/42300 refers.
