What is the limit on terraforming that will be able to be done within the game. WIth regards to placing new trees, removing existing trees, adding ponds or lakes etc. Basically will i be able to adjust what my paddocks look like or am i restricted to pre existing terrain.

You can do all of the above. The only thing I am unsure about is whether you can flatten mountain ranges (if there are any) but you can certainly smooth out the lower plains and add water in enclosures.
Things you can do currently:
raise/lower/flatten terrain
create ponds/lakes/rivers (albeit not very deep currently)
add/remove groups of trees
Things we haven't seen yet (or believe you can't do):
paint the terrain different colours/textures
place trees individually
choose what tree species to place, or change the size/scale/rotation of trees
place other terrain items like rocks, logs and bushes
some of those have-nots are either not particularly important or may make it in later down the line

I'd like to see a variety like this yes, But I don't know how deep water will be when a dinosaur bumps into it. I don't want all the dinosaurs to go swimming either. or drown for that matter haha.
Lol I can imagine Nodosaur just sinking like a brick.
thx for that image. I visualize.. haha. Let's hope if they do herd they don't all go herding into the unknown haha. "bankrupt in 10 min: all your dinosaurs drowned".
