I feel like when you are building a habitat for an animal in Planet Zoo you need the right kind of Colour like for example I like to build a Zoo in a North American Temperate Biome and when you build the habitat for the animal say for example: The West African Lion the tall and short grass you put in should be Savannah grass. What I mean is when you’re picking out the terrain you should have a choice of terrain that the animal lives in the wild like when I pick out Tall grass it should be grassland grass without having to build a zoo somewhere else, you know what I mean.

Savannah grass is only yellowish due to the lack of rain. In the rainy season, it’s as green as the grass in the temperate biome.

I don't know what mode you play the game in, but in Sandbox if you turn off animal welfare you can create very zoo-like savannah habitats by basically covering the ground in sand and light soil. If you look up African savannah habitats in zoos you'll find that they quite often use clay as a substrate because it resembles the "classic" African scene - I've found that in-game the mixture of sand and light soil mimics this effect quite well.
