Tescos and comms notification!

Now I'm not saying ive been putting in too many hours on elite dangerous but anyone else think the devices you can use in tescos to total your shopping sound exactly like the tone you hear when someone sends you a message in game lol

Are you from the south-west of England by any chance? It's the only place I've heard people add the 'S' to Tesco, but then we do it for everywhere. ASDAs, Lidls etc. At least we don't take the 'S' off Sainsburys. :p

No, the curse of Tescos is everywhere, it's even used by BBC business correspondents and several times the PA in my local store has fired up with "Welcome to Tescos customers!".
It really irritates me as an ex employee of TESCO and someone who values accuracy. Thank you all ELITES Forum contributers.

Maybe think of it not as "Welcome to Tescos, customers!" but "Welcome to Tesco's customers!"

Moving to a more on-topic stance:
I don't have experience of the Tesco beeps, but there is a sound in the game which reminds me of ST:NG (it might have been their communications noise). I wonder what [other] sounds have been sampled.

So what the plural of Tesco then? As a curious Aussie ex-pat.. enquiring minds need to know :p

You can't make a plural of a proper noun in this way, IIRC. If you wanted to be totally pedantic, you could say, for multiple stores, "Tesco's supermarkets" or "Tesco shops". But I'm in the middle of Scotland, and people still say "I went to Marks and Spencers". A bit like the old sketch (was it in Absolutely maybe?) where the guy gets so irate when his friends say "Let's play Trivial Pursuits". :)
