You have several options. But to be honest, why worry about it? The peeps aren't hurt at all by the falling coasters, you get a Steam achievement for mowing them down, and it is kinda funny to watch
. However, if it bothers you, you can do one of the following:
1. Use a Blueprint
Falling test coasters hitting peeps only happens if you're building the coaster on-site in a park that's already open. So instead, start a new sandbox game with a completely blank slate, build the coaster there where it can't hit anybody, and save it as a blueprint. Then, back in your real park, just open the My Blueprints tab, find your new coaster, and plunk it down.
Pros: Totally safe for peeps, no flying dollar amounts as you change the track, no time pressure
Cons: Hard to shape coaster to existing terrain features in the real game (although this is possible for challenge parks), have to pay for coaster in 1 lump sum instead of bit by bit
2. Close the Park
If nobody's in the area, they can't get hit by falling coasters.
Pros: Totally safe for peeps
Cons: No income during construction process
3. Stop Test Before Impact
Keep your mouse over the red "close the ride" button and click on that as soon as the coaster reaches the end of the track. This resets the coaster back to the station before it can fall on anybody.
Pros: Totally safe for peeps
Cons: Makes it more difficult to comprehend the life test data because you're having to keep 1 eye on the coaster and the other on the data
4. Just Ignore the Issue
Let nature take its course and send the peeps flying.
Pros: Totally safe for peeps, you get a Steam achievement and some entertainment
Cons: Doesn't do what you wanted to do
