Text input methods

Hello CMDRs. Just wondering what methods people are using for text entry (mainly for entering system names in the galaxy map).

Bookmarks are good, but sometimes you need to enter a new name, which can be a pain. I'm using WMR and the virtual keyboard doesn't seem to come up with ED. The headset passthrough camera is too blurry, so l'm usually left with touch typing or taking the headset off. I also use Voice Attack - can you use that reliably for text input?

For my most frequently visited systems I've set up Voice Attack commands, I also have "source" and "destination" commands that I change and use when grinding. For typing in new locations I just pull the headset up and type it (or copy the location name from a website or my todo list.) A "paste from clipboard" Voice Attack command is also very helpful.
In addition, my bookmarks list is a mile long.

Thanks Castillo. I guess it would be nice if there was a virtual keyboard that worked with ED (I think that Oculus has the Dash keyboard). I tried using the Windows on-screen one, but it didn't seem to send any output to Elite. I think ED is strange in VR because you have focus in the headset, but also focus in the window on the monitor. It isn't a big deal, since most systems just need to be bookmarked once. Some best markets change quite frequently though.

I'm on Oculus, but I haven't actually tried using the dash keyboard. It's mostly meant for use with motion controllers, which makes it a bit awkward for ED. :)
Yes, I find the controllers quite useful with ED, since you can place desktop windows directly in the cockpit (for youtube/ED market prices for example). It's just getting a system name from there into the navigation panel which is either slightly error prone (my touch typing) or immersion-breaking (headset off). Would be nice to use them to press buttons in the cockpit of course - maybe one day...
