Textures not loading in at ground level?

I know it's early and my first planet since patch, but I've not seen this before.

Can anyone replicate?

I've waiting about 5 minutes and the textures aren't loading in properly on the rocky-ice world. It's pretty nasty looking. They seem to be working fine in orbit, and off in the distance when on foot.

Had that as well a few times, but only when I was still in my ship. As soon as I hit the ground, it was crisp.
There are a few LOD glitches anyway, things adjusting and morphing into the right shape much too close to me and such. One time textures completely vanished on the ground and it was all just black.
It's fair to say there's a few things to work on at the moment. :D

It is the LOD bug that it has since launch, but in an extreme way now, when I get home I will see if I can replicate it.

I've noticed plenty of such bugs, but the nature of these ones seems different.

Here's another issue - same planet so textures load in properly here - but another issue, as this just looks like a bug again, is the extreme mis-match in ground with scatter. Again this is the first time I've noticed things looking specifically like this. Also in the shadows these scatter objects have a pink hue to them which makes them stand out even more.

It's all bugs, and I just want to see if it can be replicated enough times for a ticket to be worthwhile, or to just let FD see the exact nature of some of said bugs.

EDIT: it may be false alarm . After flying to another location I had textures loaded normally. It was probably caused by game having cached pre-patch assets (I landed BEFORE the patch) that were incompatible with post patch code.

EDIT2: other commander is reporting bug still occurs in SOME areas.

This is how it looks after todays patch.
I have been doing a lot of screenshots over last few days and NONE had this problem.
I am not sure if FD should continue "fixing" the game until they start to really know what are they actually doing with their OWN code.
Everything is naturally on ultra. I have tinkered with every in-game setting and restarted the game several times to get rid of this bug.
Then I have tweaked LOD settings in Nvidia profiler.
Nothing has any impact, game just doesn't load better textures/terrain data in closest range.
And I have plenty of VRAM free - what is conserning actually, before the patch game tended to utilize most of of my 8GB VRAM.

I have 32GB of RAM and RTX 2070s with 8GB VRAM

I have no screenshot from the same place before the patch, but it looked like that more or less:

Just checked. All normal hi-res ground from ship/SRV/on-foot for me.
But I guess a hotfix is in order.

This looks like it's part of the scatter rock system and missing the gradients to blend in with the rest. I also hope that they can fix this kind of stuff.
So far I rarely encountered a mismatch like this, but it happened a few times, yeah.

More evidence of bugs, which seem to make planets look worse in certain circumstances. It's a high-G world but things look very wrong here.

In other areas the ground textures are loading in properly, but in those cases it looked to me almost as if it was applying the wrong texture or something-- as the ground clutter didn't blend in as well as it did previously.

Honestly with a game as complex as this, and with so many bugs present, I imagine fixing one thing can so easily break something else. This thread is purely to gather evidence and make the bugs known, it certainly isn't an attack FD or point the finger of accusation.

Another planet:
Looks OK, hills that were previously bugged are now normal too.
EDIT: I will only update on this subject if I encounter some bugged terrain.

that seems like a texture blending bug.

Yet again. Pretty much every planet is like this, and I haven't changed any settings or anything on my PC

Had this issue multiple times before the patch. To be honest, unfortunately, this is how I saw the first planet in EDO, later on, I went to other planets and those looked sharp and nice.

Impossible, there are nearly no bugs in this fantastic update, and the new Planet Tech is the best thing since the invention of the wheel (y) Must be your machine not up to the specs, you should play on a Cray 2.

I would be worried if EDO was bug free, run smoothly with stable fps, BUT planets would still look bad.

Yes, a lot of them look bad.
But hey, it's an unfinished alpha-like mess, so nobody really knows what planets will be there when FD finishes polishing EDO.
You did not pay full price for an unfinished "Alpha mess" am i right? Unless the world have gone upside down, when you pay full price for a new car they have the engine, the gearbox, the brakes, the interiors...and...all is working ;) oops..the wheels too, sorry.
