Thank you developers for wasting 10 hours of my and my families time!

I suppose the strict docking regulations are ostensibly to stop players blocking the airlock or annoying people in the station interior.

Having said that, it does smack a bit of them desperately trying to make their docking minigame seem more valuable.

As someone who played the original elite, you have NO idea what the docking minigame is really like in elite unless you played that one. Oh the joy of the docking computer! It was like a slice of gaming heaven.

Oh great another person complaining about the fact that they didn't keep enough money back for ship insurance. Please can we have a few more i these posts I really want to see more of these.

maybe I should complain to that the OP has just wasted 10 minutes of my life with a pointless post. Oh wait I can't do that because it was my choice to read it and it was the OPs choice to not request docking.

learn from your mistakes and get back to enjoying the game.

Burn warning: CAUTION Coffee may be hot!

Hint: I just hit full reverse and back up through airlock if I forget docking permission.

Hopefully the game is at least half as entertaining for you as your OP was for me.

Ahh jebus will you stop with the dog-piling.

Heh I bet he won't make that mistake again. I remembered half way trough the slot. Oh sheeeeeeeeeet. Landing gear, cargo scoop. Stop stop stop. Reverse. Reverse. Faster dam it. Great fun.

My wife asks me if its ok if I pause or if its a multiplayer game. If you marry correctly its not so bad. My kid keeps wanting me to play minecraft with him, ugh .....

Lol mine does the same thing. Except with MP she stands to the side and waits for me to have a free moment for a kiss.

Its not death penalty for a "parking ticket", its for entering a station without having clearance. Like sneaking into a govt building, but in space, with lasers and trigger happy station workers.

And yeah, you lose time to your family even if the game is running smoothly. Time spent looking at a monitor is time lost to your family. No way around that one im afraid.

I understand the OP's frustration. I destroyed about 3-4 ships while docking in the beginning. I even destroyed a full cargo of gold with my ship recently in a docking accident. All was my fault, I was frustrated too, but that is part of the game.

you have my sympathies for the lost cargo bug, i'm now taking plenty of screen shots at key points in case i get hit. if i need my account fixing by support i can then get exactly the right amount put back on.

as to the docking problem you may not realize it but it's actually very good news as you have learned two very valuable lessons early in the game.

lesson one is always check for the blue pad assignment notification that sits just above your radar when you are about to enter the docking tunnel. if its not there don't dock, hit full reverse and back off to give you time to make a docking request.

never ever fly without a cash reserve, even if it means buying cheaper, less profitable cargo. the bug is partly to blame here for robbing you of so many credits but you still made the error of overspending.

imagine if you hadn't learned this lesson now: fast forward a few months and you have now put 100 hours into the game and are flying your brand new anaconda for the first time, you spent ever credit you had to fill her with cargo and are just coming in to dock. Kaboom: 100 hours progress flushed away.

how mad would you have been then?

now, because of the hard lesson you've had there is no chance you will make either mistake again. when you do lose your next ship, you'll have kept enough in hand for both the rebuy and some working capitol to get you back on your feet.
