Thank you Erasmus Talbot!

I just bought the Elite Dangerous score, mostly so I could hear the stuff I haven't experienced in game yet, and I have to say, it is nothing short of amazing.

Mr. Talbot is supremely talented and Mr. Croft (Head of Audio for Elite) was definitely right in pursuing him for this particular job. What he delivered is both inspiring and a delight to listen to, hitting all the requirements of ambience while also improving the gameplay experience.

The Supercruise suite is.....well, astounding. It's one of the first things you notice in game, and listening to it out of the game environment has only increased my appreciation of the pieces. This score is a superb complement to the awesome sound design this game has displayed and one of the high notes for this title.

Please, extend my best regards to Mr. Talbot for his excellent work and contribution to one of my favorite pastimes.

Rafael Almeida e Andrade.

Seconded, sound team is awesome.

Although while I am here if a sound team dev is watching here's my 2p for one improvement:
I personally would like a little more weight added to the sound of projectile weapons, particularly cannons and frag cannons. I want to feel like I'm right there with the shockwave blasting both aggressor and impact site, more bass and weight.
This may be a personal grievance of mine and may not be the way that the sound team wish to take Elite (i'll understand if you say no) but when you listen to this:

and

followed by this

You can see where I'm coming from.

Please do not de-rail this thread, that's not my intention, this is merely a side suggestion in a sound-thread :)

I was going to start a thread soon asking if we are ever going to see any more music from Erasmus because what he did for ED is absolutely fantastic. His talent has been to bring together many different styles and blend them together in his own unique way, bringing something new and refreshing. A lot of people comment on the talent of the audio team (which is obviously undeniable), however I don't hear a lot of people mention the music. This is unfortunate because what Erasmus has composed brings a great degree of sophistication to the soundscape. I'd like to send my special thanks to Erasmus, if he were to ever read this.

I really would like to know if we are going to get more from Erasmus. More please!!

Yes please. I also bought the ED OST and would gladly pay for a Horizons update that includes the audio from the various teasers and trailers. The audio for the powerplay trailer in particular is my all-time favorite :D

I second the call for slightly meatier bass on frags, cannons and especially multicannons, since they should be sending vibrations through the ship when they fire. Ship explosions on the other hand are amazing, you can almost feel the blastwave.

Well said above, I concur, would love to know if any further compositions are to be released in coming updates. More please indeed!

Erasmus' music and the whole sound department is the best I've ever experienced in any game (and subsequently bought the soundtrack from the FD store).

+1.

The music when you are driving around planets - reminds me of the Minecraft "plinky-plonky" music - anyone else?
I think the soundtrack is great.. the sound of the game is amazing.. and then.. your on a planet and some mad pianist starts playing.. its weird... other than that great job.

Totally agree we shoudl have a Horizons update for the OST.

I posted about the multis some time ago as they sound a bit like they are striking an empty metal bucket to me at least.
