A positive thread amongst the barrage of forum negativity, what gives
@The4thDoctor ?

It must be so disheartening for FDEV to wade through much of it, or hear of it in team debriefs. I'm amazed we got something at all, given the C-19 crisis. So...
I'm most grateful re Odyssey for implementation of the 4way-split custom control .binds into general/ship/srv/humanoid! For years Horizons totally put me off the game for months at a time with all the frustration over the necessary custom bind redo's after various updates, but since EDO, not one .binds hiccup! I have finally been able to focus on refining all the controls onto a single gamepad to suit my needs!
I'd forgotten how good the audio is, and it's even better with EDO. The new NPC lines and varied accents amuse me. I even tend to dock and go hang out in the various cantinas when distracted by emails & non-gaming chores during an EDO session.
Really enjoying the EDO experience (90:10 fun:frustration as eloquently said above) at my own pace, it's more engaging, and I could not imagine going back to mere Horizons. For me, EDO balances out the gameplay into a much more varied yet cohesive experience for my Cmdr. I am impressed that multiple small bugs/glitches/irritants I submitted are already fixed in under a month, along with loads more listed in the patch notes! I too trust that the remainder will be mostly addressed given time. My CTDs and disconnects are less frequent already.
I hope the EDO updates roadmap will enable all non-potatoed Cmdrs to eventually enjoy the final planned expansion to ED. I feel for the aggrieved VR subset after yesterday's announcement, but FDEV's EDO resources and priorities must surely be for all of us at home to have a smooth, stable, basic experience first? We're nowhere close to that... yet. [cough - beta - cough] Plus, I gather quite a few more Cmdrs wish to play the EDO expansion via consoles this autumn, so that will be... interesting...
Right on, Frontier!
