I can return back to mowing eravate sideys and asps explorers down with my premium heat cannons that I purchased from my skimmer and quince money, task killing when slightly challanged. Damn cheating scum was finally dealt with, thanks sandro for making open safe again! Comment if you also support frontier :O

Earth makes a good point though; up until now I would have said that Fdev was incapable of policing their game, but obviously that was incorrect. They only care to police the game when a certain threshold of complaining is reached. Now that they have punished those that exploited the engineers let's start agitating for punishment for the filthy practice of clogging along with ridiculous money exploits such as Quince

Agree, now is a good time to push for the other exploits to be punished, Quince is a joke and taskkillers are brazenly unapologetic because of inaction.

Aye, whilst im happy they were dealt with there are many other cheats/exploits going on that are basically considered acceptable now due to inaction.

Serious question: I've not played for a month or so. Came to this board this afternoon and am completely confused. What was this engineering exploit that they've cracked down on? There are stacks of threads but I'm not able to find any info on what was happening. Any link or summary would be much appreciated...

Aaaaaaaa spotted the quince lord! Or other of the mentioned problems that are far more severe, but that's where the joke ends.

Aaaaaaaa spotted the '5 for 1' lord! Or any other of the mentioned problems that are far more severe, but that's where the joke ends. (Right at the beginning of the OP)

i was already filthy rich before quince. i'm not even sure i've even been there.

the AHK :)D) and quince are radically different things. the latter is just one in a long tradition of cash cows, the former is a tremendous fig up by every measure, this absolutely had to be fixed. the amount of noise you would have to do to trigger the same response for just another money exploit is unimaginable, and not worth it imo. this exploit like all his predecessors will die of old age in some future update. so what. cash is only relevant for beginners anyway, let them have it if they want it so bad.

I would argue with this based on no facts whatsoever! (how you know a response is starting well!)

But I see a lot more complaining about quince etc on the forums and reddit than I ever did about this rngineers exploit. I don't think it's a complaint threshold more of a "what can we actually fix" threshold.

the rngineers exploit (I don't know how to do it) but from what I gather involves tripping the game over at the right time. Quince etc is a result of how missions generate, something Fdev have clearly been unable to fix otherwise we would probably have better missions.

As I said though I have no stats, facts or quotes to back me up so I'm certainly not saying i'm right!

Basically a exploit that made Engineers slightly less grindy appeared for a day, people who used it had their exploited and legit rolls wiped. Some people knew of the glitch for months and ate a ban for it. All of this is completly fair and I want frontier to set a strong regime and fight back against all the other glitch abusers.

Yup I did a little bit of 5 for 1 of several blueprints to get a grand view of how the RNG works. I already had good rolls for all of my ships months ago but didn't really play the game much anymore in the past months. Ii don't really care, even if they reset my account completly, my time in ED as a player has gone a long time ago, but I want the more severe exploits to get punished aswell (mainly combat logging, heat abusers and premium glitch abusers... Money has no value in this game and you're bamboozling yourself by grinding it).

Who the heck are you to lecture us on cheating when you admit you are one yourself?
No, your excuse of "doing it just to investigate it" doesn't wash with anyone!
