Thank you Frontier this update is amazing!

Everything in this update looks like a huge improvement! It's almost everything I hoped for especially the changes to sandbox mode! Great job!

That said please in the next update please consider the following:
First some bigger maps! Those of us on console can't just use mods to get rid of the unbuildable areas and that seriously limits our parks. Especially the cheese map (south America)

Rework some of the cohabitation dislikes. It's one thing to have some Dinosaur species uncomfortable around one another but having no Sauropods Ceratopsids Stegosaurids or Ankylosaurids able to cohabit is really annoying.

Finally allow all trees and vegetation on all maps. This would just be an all round quality of life change.

They've mentioned this before, they won't edit existing maps because it runs the risk of compromising save files. It's a big deal-breaker, even if you're personally okay with sacrificing all of your parks.

Am okay for it if we get the full map

Yeah, I wouldn't want my saves to break thank you very much. And there's the simple solution of simply adding one (or a few) new large map, no stupid unbuildable holes in the middle and done. No need to mess with existing ones. But I also don't know how likely that is since yes, consoles still hold the game back something terrible with their limitations and I don't know how willing they'd be to roll out some large maps for PC and maybe next gen consoles only. Pretty sure the no era ristrictions in sandbox are as far as they'll go with that, so chances are slim I guess. Doesn't mean I wouldn't love some new large maps, though, because I really would.

Old gen console hold back. if it was pc and next gen only we would have gotten dinosaurs as close as the movie. next gen and pc can handle million on one object with great geometry of polygone right now. we have around 300k-500k of polygone bc of old gen (on ue5 there nanite that can handle movie renders it reduce polygone but it will still have the same detail)

Back on topic:

Thanks to the devs. Content-wise I couldn't be more happy, it has all I really wanted right now and will definitely get me back on the game. Haven't played much, since I'm not a "everything's unlocked" sandbox-guy, always need the full management package and that includes research. And decorations are great aswell!

I won't be buying the dlc, though, since I couldn't care less about camp cretacous.

While it's likely that old consoles do hold us back it's very doubtful that the map size is because of that. Nublar North in JWE1 is bigger than any of the current maps and runs completely fine. Also that's the reasoning behind the species cap on old consoles so I think they already accounted for that problem.

We don't need edits to existing maps. Just give us a custom map like Jpog had.

Yeah some jwe1 maps are bigger. Old gen console hold us back for dinosaurs texture and geometry and graphique. To compare Call of duty and battlefield have more detail and bigger maps and old gen can handle it. Its just frontier that dont want make big maps(the isla nublar 2015 and isla sorna has map as big as wz but we can't build on it. the game has rendering issue it render tree we can't behind the montains.

Yeah there mods out there that can do it and files are okay so other point they dont want to

Frontier they are great dev they did great thing but map like that should have being full map they could have done what wz and gta does render where you are and what you see like block 25km around you render or less

Universal hold them back the most if they did dinosaurs game without jurassic franchise the game would be better

But there will be a game like that pc only prehistoric kingdom and other game that will make jwe2 small is ark 2 with next gen only and using ue5 that engine is incedible frontier should make a similaire thing as nanite in there engine

Yeah, no. That expanded maps mod we got for JWE2 does not mess with existing save files but adds a new, bigger version of a the map when you start a new park. That's basically the same thing as adding a new map, not making the existing ones larger. The JWE version did alter the existing maps and it could mess with the old save files something terribly. So yeah, I totally get it when they say they won't alter the size of the existing maps in anyway that would effect old save files.

And no they couldn't make it like GTA because GTA is not a park builder sim. There isn't constantly stuff going on off screen that needs to be rendered and calculated to make things work. Your dinos have to move all the time, react to things etc. and can't be frozen in time until you get close to them again, it would mess the whole thing up. Like oh there's a storm going on? Ah don't have to worry, if I stay right here my T-Rex and Raptors won't kill my guests in the meantime since they're too far away to be calculated and rendered anyway...nope, doesn't work in a game like this.

Ok but they still could do as the mod option to have small one for the filles (same) and the new one bigger

I saw park simulator do like gta if you dont see it. It won't render but gta still render like i said in square you can chose how far it render how far the render will lower and how far it won't render anymore . all other stuff are the AI work. if dinosaurs will eat a guest when you dont see it(it will still count the kill or that dinosaurs break out (exemple gta online if player is on one far from you and kill some one that npc won't frooze in time). Every games render like that but on jwe2 the maps are too small for that or its the engine that not powerfull enough for it. all of this could be next gen and pc only there nothing really that make différentes between old gen and new gen - pc only little better graphique not much. mix era and the lag on old gen

I think if frontier made vote for bigger maps new terrain tool and water tool but saves will be gone. i think the most will actuely say yes that what really what People want and total remove of hit box of the objects and clipping issue fixed

Apologies. Just read the patch notes more thoroughly. I'll see how this pans out since I haven't played for months. Thanks for pointing this out.

What the heck are you talking about? Sandbox STILL doesn't let us do excavations, research or build a park that has some challenge to it. There is no endgame and they refuse to toggle this. Whats the point with such a superficial endgame where you're rolling in money in just a few minutes
Are you serious? How are you reading this forum right now and somehow haven't seen what's coming to the game in the next few days? They ARE adding all those options to sandbox!

Alot of people are totally fine with the map sizes. I'd rather have smaller maps that makes it challenging to build a park, than a giant map where you can just put everything in without planning your park. It would be so easy to 5 star a park, if the maps were bigger. I'm not interested in that at all... And others on this forum feel the same way.

Well, to be fair that doesn't mean no one should get to choose whether or not they wanna play on a smaller map. Like they can simply add a few big ones as well, the other maps won't disappear because of that. So those who just want to build and don't care about any challenges can do that on large maps and those who prefer smaller spaces can stick to the old, smaller maps. No harm done and both sides win. I definitely shouldn't affect save games, though, that's a big no for me as well.

New large maps? Yes please! Loosing all my previous parks to get them? Big nope.

Almost didn't see that 'cause you changed it after I read the original response...Again, park sims do not work like GTA and RPGs and I don't think you get just how much goes into all those AI calculations that are constantly needed in simulations. The field of vision rendering stuff is only a small part of it and most calculations are CPU heavy not GPU which is the real issue here. Not gonna go into that further anymore, it's come up enough times already in regard to both JWE and PZ performance issues.

And I very much doubt the majority of players would be will to exchange all their current parks and progress they spent countless hours on already for a bigger map or two. Yes, people want that stuff added but certainly not in a way that ruins everything else they've done so far.

What they need to do is come up with one very large map bigger than all the rest that isn't so much of a map but a template that the game can use to create a map with the set dimensions using the biome of our choosing At some point before the game came out I kinda thought this would be the case with every map, I don't know why I thought that, but I liked the idea. If you found a map with a size and shape you liked you wouldn't be stuck playing in only one environment
