I'm not a big gamer. What attracted me to Elite Dangerous is that Frontier has made a serious attempt to simulate a Milky Way galaxy based on real astronomy. It really resonates with my life-long love of the stars and the many hours I've spent stargazing.
Today, as I was exiting a station, I noticed the glowing edge of the earth-like planet in the foreground. I stopped my ship to watch the sunrise and was just totally blown away at the beauty of the simulation. And then I don't know if it was by chance or triggered by the event but the most beautiful and moving music played softly in the background. For a few moments, I could truly believe I was there. Well done, Frontier!
