Thank you kickstarter backers!

I would like to say Thank you as well !!!
I can't wait for 16th of december to play

Againg, Thanks guys and see you in space soon(tm) :p

I had a beautiful experience yesterday. Had a 'bad morning' and my posts were terser than usual considering the point(s) under discussion. But an hour or so later there were a flurry of reps back and forth and 'thanks and sorry' posts. It was nice that although we didn't agree, we could at least joke about it. I don't know another community that can be like that.

It's all the '84s I think. Lends a certain nuance to the ambient environment, imparting an aura of calm and optimism to the development of this game. As Kate Russell I think put it... "allowing us to act like children again". Well children with a fair bit of experience and even temperament perhaps.

I'd never backed a game before Elite Danergous. I've been hanging around the net for the last 15 years chasing shadows, trying to find when Elite IV would become a reality.

When this project popped up on kickstarter, I pledged immediately. To see it coming together now, gives me a warm and fizzy feeling. It would have been a crime if it hadn't achieved its funding goal.

The game's only in Its infancy, and its already great.

2015 is gonna be one helluva year. Cheers to all the other commanders out there in deep space, who made this happen.

You're welcome OP. May I say that the <cough> 'testing' <cough> of your new software over the past year has been shear Hell! :D

I backed it for totally selfish reasons but your thanks is appreciated :)

Initially pledged £40, but then upped it to £150 a day later. My first and so far only Kickstarter backing.

You're very welcome! :)

I just happened to be browsing new Kickstarter projects just after the project launched...and I remember my love of Elite on the Acorn Electron (my friends introduced me to it on the BBC B) from when I was a kid (I had to be good for a whole week, not even naughty once to persuade my parents to buy me the game) and my later love of Frontier (on an Amiga 500+) as a teenager. There was just no WAY I was not backing this...after waiting so many years to see "Elite 4".

You're welcome Hexen. I only backed this as someone had pointed me towards Star Citizen and as I was about to drop some cash on that, some else said "if you liked SC you'll probably like Elite Dangerous that's a new Kickstarter too" WHAT!!! I couldn't believe it, my all time favorite game of my childhood!?! As soon as I saw the Kickstarter page I was sold. Not regretted a single pound pledged. AWESOME!

Echoing the other kickstarter backers here, thanks for the thanks.

I didn't hesitate to back once I had heard about a new version of Elite and have been very happy with not just the beauty in the game, but also that FDev have managed to bring an advancement to core game engine design, which has been lacking in PC gaming for nearly two decades. Its not for everyone's tastes (neither were the previous Elites), but its great to see so many people who do appreciate the achievements, with a great deal more to come in the future.

I'm waiting for the 16th to see what the actual live release is like. Playing it now is fun, but don't feel like putting in serious time if a wipe is coming. I missed the KS, and even though I have some concerns about the future, I don't regret backing the beta, and am looking forward to playing it after the release.
