Thank you to all Frontier Devs

We don't say it often enough. Our gratitude is often lost in a sea of negativity, selfishness and complaint.

Yet, in the last two days you have released two decent sized patches to fix ongoing issues. Stability is returning and game mechanics improving as a result of your hard work and dedication. Bugs are being squashed, imbalances are being addressed and game play is improving steadily. The FDevs have probably lost time with friends and family. I'll bet some have spent way too much time in the office and are wondering what daylight looks like. I just want to say I appreciate your efforts to making my gaming experience better.

We forget that the FDevs love this game as much as we do and are working behind the scenes to get 1.3 humming along with future releases.

The graphics, the sound, the improvements and the immersion are a direct result of their passion and desire to see Elite: Dangerous not only succeed, but excel.

I personally see Elite: Dangerous as the glass half full and I can't wait for you to top it up over time.

Thank you for all the above.

PLEASE NOTE: This is not the thread to moan about "What about fixing... <insert your personal issue>" or "Can't you look into <insert your personal issue>".

If you can't restrain yourself then you need impulse control therapy. If you can't say anything positive, then simply say nothing at all and go rant on another thread.

If anyone does, may I suggest the rest just ignore them. I suspect our lives will be much better for it.

From 1 IM pilot to another you should reconsider your stance. (Taken from the YouTube video I just watched)

I am on commander #12 - I only play in open.

ED is a good game (even though for me PP is not) and 1.3 brought some superb enhancements (respect to SJA for AI and the sound engineers for cranking it to 11).

Return to your original ideas and get back on the true path : 1 life .. 1 goal .. 1 dream.

People complain that they released the update on a friday, (and probably also complained why the update is taking so long) and have already released 2 patches to fix it.

Ive bought games from much bigger studios financially that release an update on a tuesday or whenever in much worse state and its took them weeks to fix it. Some games I'm still waiting and theyve long been ditched by the devs.

For some I dont think it matters what frontier do they will still find reason to complain.

Minor issues and bugs are turned into mountainous gamebreaking issues by people who seem to be only looking for the negatives.

Unfortunately it is the by-product of the social media disease of insta gratification and narcissism that is plaguing our world.

I absolutely agree !!

Unfortunately it is the by-product of the social media disease of insta gratification and narcissism that is plaguing our world.

Its weird that as games get more advanced and technically more impressive and bigger in scale, people seem less and less satisfied and more and more demanding and entitled and small imperfections are scrutinized with a magnifying glass.

And if the devs havent responded to a complaint in an hour they are being ignorant when it wasnt that long ago you wouldnt have had any direct contact from the devs..

I might have ben lucky in avoiding the bugs, or might just be oblivious to them, but outside of a few typos and the like, and after the first Friday evening, 1.3 has been both rock solid and an absolute joy. Far better framerates, fantastic audio (can't say this enough: a decent pair of headphones turned up and the audio really puts you in your ship) and an enjoyable metagame on top of the existing gameplay. Nothing but happiness from me.

Well said. Nowadays people seem to want everything and preferably yesterday.

I would somehow understand the whining if the devs didn't do anything to fix the issues. Even when they do fix, people still complain that the downtime won't fit their tight schedules.

Thanks for the #1 game devs!

Thanks OP for starting this thread. I too would like to thank FD for their hard work. Slowly but surely ED is becoming better and better. David Barben and FD care very much about this game. This is why they self published it in the first place. I can't wait to see what the next update brings. In the mean time enjoy what we have and look forward to what's coming, and give the Devs a break!!

Critique, that does occur from time to time, all aside ..
+1 to the OP for giving chance to restate that it continues to be an AMAZING experience,
Watching this AAA software materialise and take form, before our very eyes!

If a bug shows up here, or a server de-pings there, it's just a reminder to me, that MX Flash this aint ..
This is no Angry Little Birds, this is state of the art computing of (please count them) 400 BILLION stars!
Each one .. a work of art imo.

+1 from me.

Today patch was good. It seems that the "hull integrity" bug was fixed and also the amount of comodities on the market is somehow reflecting the actual demand. When I bought several hundreds of tons of gold, there is really less gold on stock when I return to the system for another round.

Completely and utterly agree.
I think 1.3 is a wonderful addition to the Elite Dangerous project.

Yes, that pretty well sums it up.

I am just going to deal with some posts.

Come back to a shortened version of this thread in a couple of minutes.....

<edit>
An unfortunate post and several replies derailed the thread. They have been removed.

Please keep to the topic and spirit of the OP. Thank you.
