So I was trying to hold out until the 16th before doing anything other playing tutorials but after Tutorial 4: Travel just kept on leaving me in infinite witch space I figured I should try a hyperjump in the proper game to ensure it wasn't my router settings blocking traffic or some other such nonsense.
Well I'm sure you can imagine where that went. A sidewinder and 100 credits was the beginning of something like a 6 hour gameplay session
In those 6 hours I have had an enormous amount of fun. Everything from avoiding 3 interdiction attempts enroute to my first mission destination, succumbing to a 4th and managing to escape to the station with a cracked canopy and malfunctioning thrusters through to spending an hour mining an asteroid belt only to discover I read the commodities market wrong
.
When I first bought into EVE this is the game I was wanting it to be.
Well done Frontier. David and team you have my respect and personal thanks for creating what is a fantastic foundation for the BDSSE! (oh...wait, where have I heard that before...). You guys rock.
I really must resist playing too much between now and the 16th so maybe I should distract myself by building a proper cockpit for my HOTAS/Pedals/etc.
EDIT: Almost forgot! A huge thank you for keeping this as a sim rather than appealing to the lowest common denominator in the wider gamer market. You clearly know your audience and it shows
