thanks for changing the ring asteroid field lighting. was working on my bounty hunting in there, and just lost a 30million credit ship...
thanks for wasting all that time.

amazing what a single day makes...

p.s. dont care about replies. stil deciding if i wanna keep playing this game.

Sooooo, was that like lost 1.5 million in insurance deducted from your cash-stash (5% of 30 million value ship), or did one manage to go ahead and lose it all because of senseless gambling?

kitted ship for bounty hunting and not trading. was working towards getting to that level.... didnt work out so good.
only got hte ship like yesterday?

So basically left the station without enough to cover the insurance. Got it. Thank you.

Now go ahead and blame the game...

/confused...

How is this the fault of the lighting?

Did they turn it off?

I spent the whole of last night BH in a ring - made 300,000cr and had an absolute blast.

Didn't notice any probs with lighting, I could see perfectly well.

/still confused

PS BACON!!!!

Maybe he went to the dark side of the ring, got too overconfident, didn't notice the warning lights on a near by object and collision warning while on a dogfight, and *smack*?

I got my new asp yesterday. I checked my insurance cost to make sure I had enough money to cover it in case something bad happened. I am being smug and insufferable. Sorry for you loss OP.

What good is a game where you can't lose? Your attitude is the same one my girlfriend has when she loses any game, including casual phone games. Pick yourself up and buy the ship again. There are many reasons to take a break or not play the game, losing your ship isn't one of them.

Without any data to back this up besides a general bias of my own, ED players fall generally in one of these two categories:

- The Grinders : Mostly play in solo or group. Tend to gravitate towards big ships with max cargo-hold and min defenses. Don't like actual opposition, as that may set back their preplanned progress towards the next big ship.

- The Players : Mostly play in open and is fully aware that disaster may strike at any moment. And plan ahead for it. More concerned about having fun than having the cash-stash grow at a steady and fast pace.

Personally, been playing in open since I started and lost 8-10 million due to going boom so far (roughly 20% of my total earnings). Always had enough for the insurance and then some. Besides having millions salted down in ships spread around the galaxy. I'll never see the inside of a Sidewinder again unless I actually want to.

Going fast and loose may have its merits, but so do slow and cautious.

You know. I have a Cobra in storage Fully kit out for Exploration. I payed for a Lakon 6 I had 100,000 left. Accidently destroyed it. So I had 50k and a Lakon 6. So I went back to a Cobra and did a few combat runs. Went back to the Lakon 6. Now I have 2,000,000 credits. Half I use for trading. The other half I using for insurance. Once I save 10,000 I will buy either a Lakon 7 or Asp and modify it. Go back to exploring.

But I will always make sure I have funds to cover my REAR END.

If it makes you feel any better I have a Cow9 worth well over 100 million and 50 million held in reserve because insurance is important for those days when you smear yourself all over an asteroid.
