Couple of weeks back I started a thread entitled "Help needed to add a Detailed Surface scanner into a Hauler's Internal compartments".
I Upgraded as advised, albeit without the Advanced DS as I could not afford it as only had 750,000CR. .
Journeyed out almost 1000 clicks, scanned a lot but not everything...sometimes v tricky locating items I knew were there from the system view map..my longest haul out to surface scan a secondary red star was 250,000 clicks!
Got homesick, & made it back home after a few scares with jumps etc, & becoming increasingly paranoid over losing the ship & all that scanned data.
Finally got to sell to UC at the nearest station, for a tidy £1,750,000CR...so now my bank balance is up to £2,500,000CR ,..plus about 60 systems' worth of First Discovery messages...cue manic dancing at 4am!!
So, just want to say thanks for the advice from those more in the know than me (this game cannot be played without us helping each other in these forums), and also...
for anyone looking to Explore, do it!! My figs above are no doubt very average and there will be dozens of stories more successful than the above, but if you go Exploring you should have similar happy stories & can easily tot up Credits & First Discovered messages when you return to sell them.
