Watch youtube videos on how to land / dock - and double check key configs before you play as some needed keys (imo) are not mapped.
Also the default FSD key "J" will turn on your FSD to hyper jump or cruise but will not turn it off again to drop out of cruise - again, key settings > Enable FSD super cruise (the on is also the off)
Also, videos on interdiction and avoiding them are good to watch between now and then
