Thanks for the fix to the Anaconda cockpit FD now...

Seconded... Also the surrounding dash looks a bit more deeply textured from what I can remember. .....its very nice. [smile]

Think yourself lucky, the blazing blue-white lights to either side of the AspX dash really gripe my pipe and no sign of it EVER being addressed.

I still think the scanner display backlight is too bright, but this is definitely closer to the 2.2.03 version than I was expecting we would get. For the record, the Cutter uses the same scanner and it too has an overly bright backlight compared to 2.2.03.

Everything else looks 1000 times better than it did in the 2.3 beta and original release. The biggest relief is to finally have the dashboard reflections under control and no longer being blinded by the glare even when the ship was supposed to be in total darkness.
 
Two steps forward and one step back, IMO. Anyone else noticed that the silver horizontal beam ahead of the hardpoints has now vanished AGAIN when looking at the nose from the cockpit? Also, they've added light reflections to the inside of the dorsal hardpoint bays, so now it's even more obvious that the C3 hardpoint doors are absent. How is it that those doors have been missing for YEARS and it's still not fixed?

Also, I still want my black radar screen back.

Agreed. I have no idea why everything seems so lit up now, cockpits and that bloody scanner. Really when I'm flying around I want to be focused on what's outside the window.

Granted that means looking at planets that are still waiting for some colour work, oh and for the terrain height variation to be fixed so that we can actually have dramatic, narrow canyons again instead of every hmc and metallic looking like a slightly hillier version of Norfolk - I've given up landing on them to look for interesting scenery completely now out of sheer boredom, which means that since I hate driving on ice worlds about 75% of what I enjoyed about exploration has left the building, but never mind at least I can invite a player into my ship which has no guns or fighter bay. :rolleyes:
 
YES! PLEASE BRING BACK THE DARK COCKPITS!!! Or at least allow us the ability to turn the overhead lighting off. They added this cockpit overhead lighting in the same version they added the avatar creator. My guess is the developers want you to be able to see your cool suit. I DON'T CARE!!! it's very distracting. Below is a screenshot of how it used to look vs. the new lighting system in the cockpits. . . . .blehk. I like the old way. much less distracting:

I still get the center sensor display washed out in certain circumstances, but what can you. It would be nice if they offered different color display options in outfitting.
 
The new cockpit looks much improved. I like it quite well. The lighting, I agree, is still a bit much. A way to dim or turn off the cockpit lights would be great!
