So I've got my Cobra III - ive got no money for upgrades but I'm aboard! I've spent the last few evenings (since Tuesday) flying around in my sidewinder, crashing into things, getting in fights and trading my way around the "bubble" then last night I got the opportunity to get in the cobra.
Takes me back to my yoof - totally chuffed! Okay back to the void.

I've been using a Cobra MkIII for the past couple of days but now have made enough to buy a 2nd ship and keep my Cobra, I got a Dolphin and I'm finding some very nice 1+ million passenger jobs that are only 2-4 jumps away. easy money!

I'm loving it so far.

Taking it slow, still in the Sidey, although modded it up a bit. Decided not to jump straight to an Eagle as I've often seen suggested, I'm saving up for a Cobra instead so I can get that nostalgic 1984 feeling.

Still hopping in and around the starter system, delivery missions, bit of bounty hunting. Feel pretty comfortable with the controls and systems now.

Only had one really embarrassing incident so far when I somehow managed to completely jam the ship upside-down under one of the landing platforms at Baker's Prospect. Completely jammed, wouldn't budge. I ended up just quitting and restarting. D'oh!

Landing using the DS4 is still the diciest part for me. On several occasions I've landed like a Boss. On several other occasions I've landed like a complete numpty. :)

I know the feeling ....

I just can't seem to manage forward / vertical / lateral thrusters, as well as rotation, all at the same time with the DS4. Considering how competent I was at docking on the PC with a HOTAS, it's a struggle. :)

Hopefully, the T.Flight I've ordered will arrive soon.

Just tonight faceplanted 2 planets while doing the Ancient Ruins mission. Second time lost my ship, so now I have a > 1000 Ly trip to resume - and I'm sooo nearly finished - then I have to travel back :(

Edit: Elite Dangerous (to myself!)
