I hear the Piracy update is being worked by the same folks who are working on the Crime and Punishment update and if enough people start chuckling, they may release it in season 42.
In all seriousness, i actually tried player piracy for the first time last week (around the old worlds). I was very polite and did manage to get a few tons of cargo, worth pretty much nothing + a couple of combat logs (Condas mainly) + limpets not working + cargo disappearing...

No. The spikes and suites will make all the difference to identify you as a fearsome pirate I should submit to and unload my valuable cargo to, particularly if in a pirate paint job with pirate decal.
Of course you'll have to get in front of me and close enough for me to see it all as I'm running, and find some way of stopping any griefer with a few quid spare from getting it, but I'm sure it will work.

last i heard there is nothing in the SC shop we wont be able to earn in game as well.. or has this changed? (quite possible after all the pvp slider has been taken out apparently, and VR is looking like it is getting removed

There's a difference between the pictures of space ship concepts other companies sell and the ships Frontier puts into the game for free. A wide gulf of difference actually.

Honestly if FD sold credits for cash in store BUT allowed everthing on the store to be got in game (like they claim with SC) i would be happy. ED does not have grind to me, quite the opposite in fact
