Thargiods ..nice challenge

Second encounter and wing of 4...one forgot his ammo and we were all over the place and a enemy new....we gave it all and were on coms....got our beeehind handed to us ...but only to come back and conger ;)

I like the ramp up ....if you are a solo guy ..run and keep running!

The fact it makes animal noises is a cool idea....Think killing a tiger with your bare hands.....it is disturbing no matter what side of the fence.

Again i must point out the sound crew....i bow in the dust and you should branch out and teach many film/game makers how to maybe do it :)

Some bugs are here sure.. we are human..but no real show stoppers for me so far :)

Again thanks to FD for a killer computer....You come across as a great team .....mega respect from my seat. Now where is my elite mini towel to wipe the sweat away ;)

I visited some of my associates last night and I told they the humans come in peace.

They didn't seem to agree and carried on sucking up life boats to make human stew with.

Theres a certain irony in that if thats the level players will eventually have to play at...love them or hate them, SDC set the bar high. One can almost smell the grind coming that will allow less godlike players to gain every last drop of shiny they can cram into their pride and joy...

On that note...taking them on in solo mode is now a bigger challenge than in open or PG...certain amount of irony in that too ^

The challenge level is prob about right so far - but won't be long till we see one taken by a single player and definately by a duo - on my first go in the python my first salvo of missiles from one fixed and two turrets of AX missiles, plus beam laser and autocanon (with corrosive) knocked it down to 80% - bit of AF flying and later some reverski and I could get it to that consistently with practically no incoming damage (just dictate range). The Thargoid shield has immpresive regen - but it's breakable with a good burst dps..
I'm an ok pilot - and my ship is decently engineered - there will be folk out there with more lethal setups so definately achievable - we will no doubt see tougher alien ships, and two or three of these at a time will be really interesting.
My main takeaway on these so far has been dictate range and hit them in the rear if possible - ignore the swarm - reminds me a bit of "kiting" a mob away from a group in a traditional MMO and leathering it with burst dps.

Not everyone has time to live on the forums & have approaching 5000 posts or post 7 times a day [blah]. Try just explaining without the sarcasm, eh?

A whole 7 posts a day, many of which are made whilst I'm having a 5 minute break at work. Yeah mate, vast time committment involved there, it's amazing I can find a few seconds here and there to attend to personal hygiene and preparing food. So yeah, that's a negative on the no sarcasm thing.

It's touching that you actually cared enough to check my profile out though, just to respond to what was very clearly a lighthearted joke with this snippy nonsense.

The Thargoids are presenting a greater challenge than PvP .... they have really ramped up today ! So much for the sit and watch and try talking poetry to them [knocked out]

Like real life situations, I suspect Thargoids come in different colours. Maybe we should examine behavior first and realise there are good and bad guys of every creed, culture and SPECIES.

My associates are friendly but sometimes the humans need to be reminded they're not the only intelligent life in the galaxy.

First comes the anti-Thargoid weapon, and the elite player wings kill the aliens. Solo players complain that they’re locked out because no friends.

Then comes the anti-Thargoid hull, and a few serious players start winning solo. Casual players complain that it’s still too hard.

Then comes the anti Thargoid shields, hat, galoshes, cologne, knickers, etc. Everyone starts farming Thargoids solo. Whole community complains it’s ‘too easy’, and a ‘money exploit’.

FDEV jumps off a plane with no parachute, giving up on a hopeless, whiny community that will never be satisfied.
