Community Event / Creation Thargoid and Fer-de-lance Website

I have decided to create a website for the pub role play thread and also to encourage the patrons to group up for the game when it comes and form an alliance with the same name.

What i'm not sure about is whether the regular posters and visitors to the pub would be happy for me to port the story across in some way to the website.

Also to introduce characters and back stories if you guys are up for it?

I am happy for this to happen. Also it would nice to have somewhere to do the character back stories as it can be hard to check what you've already said about a character as the thread grows.

Do you just want the main commander characters or should we include secondary characters like Bill, Minerva or Poo?

Is Amber a secondary character? :S Ok now... I'm sorry...I didn't mean anything by that... you can put the gun down now Amber. Ok that's settled , Amber is NOT a secondary character.

So the year it's set in is 3299 is it? Seeing as the game is set in 3300 and is due for release next March.

yeah im not bothered about aging chars lol if we're going to be accurate we need to get rid of everything we've ever done!! lol

ALL Chars please submit away.. Frank needs to put his brother in and his Sister in LAW

we need Minerva... our enemies... etc

Try not to include unknown facts that you want to surprise people with.. if you have a status : MIA or MISSING or Deceased or MURDERED

please add them to your description. I may knock up a php table make to database these people..

I have also created a form to allow us to add terms and items to the list especially drinks and tech and food..

This will help us keep track of Jinx Janx etc... though would Janx and Agent P's onesie be classed as chars?? Naw...

The more help I can get the more extensive the site can be and more helpful for new people to get involved with a quick catchup.

Also it would be nice to have a place to share the ingame carry on when we eventually meet in space... adds to the whole immersion.

OK I Have updated the people with the submissions, and I made my own to show what can be done... so please get creative.

It takes a little bit of futtering to make things work.. so any ideas would be greatly appreciated..

Im not sure that duplicating the thargoid thread would add any value..

Maybe a brief story so far could cover it... maybe I can steal Simons story

Are you talking about the half-filled bottle of Janx and your Onesie that had been gifted semi-sentience by Amber's thought transference device? I kind of liked the idea that newcomers would come in and see the old codger talking to a bottle of drink, and without knowing the backstory think that he's mad. If you're going to put them into any category, maybe you should put them in 'Pets' along with Boris the spider.

I'd always been a bit vague about Minerva. It was Garthyre who introduced her, so I felt is was her job to flesh her out if she wishes.

Does Bikky know of this thread? I thought he was putting together the stories as well.

He was going to, as far as I know, but the thread is so large now, it is a huge project to take on. It is complicated by the fact that some people (no names) want to approve the content they wrote in the thread before it is put together as a collection of stories.

Yeah am up for this! should be fun adding as many chars as possible, i have some enemies side chars written down so will add them, time depending i will add as quick as can.

Bikky will probably say, but i had a feeling he wrote he changed his mind about collecting/recording all the stories of the Thargoid Thread as he didnt feel his writing up to it, but i hope he changes his mind, be good to get another view.

Simon is doing an excellent job in putting alot of previous stories in his Book review thing(sorry cant remember name and lost link!) its slightly revised and tidied up and great rereading! i cant stress how good it is!

but am also loving this idea Mr P, have taken a quick look and looks excellent! will get on it, say if you need other details etc

I was doing the stories, but real life got in the way....

If only I could quick work, then I'd have more time, but I aint giving up on

I'll have another bash at pulling together something and post a sample for you's to read and see what you think to it. Then will try do it each month 1 chapter.

I wouldn't mind putting together all the jukebox quiz questions. I do get the feeling they'd loose their life a bit if they're ripped from the surroundings of the bar. Half the fun is reading the bad guesses. Is it possible to put links to the posts where the questions are asked?

yeah, def need a jukebox of some sort............and your in trouble AP! ive sat here all morning just going through the excellent new Thargoid site and writing stuff, and ive still to feed the cat!! and me for that matter!
