But FDev don't design the game around players, that's what we've been told over the years - that it'sa cutthroat galaxy and we're jus ta part of it - now the game is being designed especially for players? Which one is it?

Ah, my bad. I wish this was announced somewhere... So I need to help with evacuation I guess.
It would be much more exciting to know there's a limited time to get the people out and there's a limited amount of people.
Right now, the RP would be "we need help before all the people burn to death and get them out"
"How do we know when we've got them all out"
"Oh just imagine it"
If we had an actual number of survivors then it would be a thing to save them all. As time runs out your taking more risks to evacuate everyone then all of a sudden a bbunch of Thargoid lovin defenders show up and start attacking passenger ships - the defence force patrolling that station kick in after burners and dive it but the rescue effort has to go on! People are still burning alive or suffocating - they still need your help!

Yep, AX weapons you can anyway.
Obviously with engineered shields, armour, weapons etc you'll last longer, but without you can still join in.
Btw, I found in my lightly armoured mk3 Cobra I could take on 2 scouts (NHSS threat 3, or get 1 or 2 scouts to chase you away from the rest), it's got military armour (possibly engineered lightened, I can't remember), 2 medium beams (not engineered, but need to be for lower energy use!), pwr dist is engineered for engine focused (so weap capacity reduced), & shlds are standard A grd (whatever the max size a Cobra can take).
The main thing is to make sure you hit boost & dodge, the moment you hear 'incoming missile', those caustic missiles will eat a away the flimsy Cobra haul pretty quickly! If you do get hit by 1, you need to over heat your ship to just over 150% to burn it off! (If you don't have decontamination limpets to hand).
In my next fights with the goids I'll be bringing my heavily armoured & engineered Python to take 'em out!

This is ridiculous. They really need to give us more than 24 hours notice if we're supposed to intervene!
We also need gimballed AX weapons (the god weapons from the guardians can remain fixed only for that "Git Gud" motivation) and in more sizes (C1s and C4s!).
And don't even get me started about the personal grind you have to do to unlock corrosion resistant cargo racks and then they only come is size 4! (not 2 and 3, just 4!)
One frame per week, and even Nick Park would quit.
Elite on the BBC had a beter frame rate (7 i think)
Even GalMap provides me no reason to worry about thargoids whatsoever:
Not for class 1 hardpoints at least.

You can actually get a 2 just not at the same place as the 4.
While you're technically correct, I'm pretty confident that the amount of grind I need to endure to outfit my one ship from stem to stern is still going to take anywhere from 1 year--to never if I just randomly acquire things like you've so often suggested
