Thargoid Attack Trigger

The idea is how player activity could trigger Thargoid station attacks. Thargoid station attacks could be detected some time ahead by succesully finishing a number of scout missions. GalNet would announce a timer for a imminent Thargoid Attack on a certain station.

The main mechanic would be a hidden counter that counts delivered Thargoid Tech, Meta Alloys and Escape Pods per station. If a trigger is reached there would be increased Thargoid activity around a several light year sphere around the station with an increased number of Non Human Signal Sources (NHSS) spawning.

Simultanously there would be an increased number of scouting missions spawning at that station. Scouting missions would involve investigating NHSS and xeno-scanning the Thargoid (with tissue-samples giving extra rewards).

In this stage there are two additional counters, making it three values interesting for the "Thargoid Attack Trigger":
1) Thargoid Interest Counter: counts Thargoid Artefacts, Metal Alloys and Escape Pods that have been delivered to each station. Counting each transaction, market, blackmarket or rescue. When the Thargoid Interest Count reaches a hidden trigger the Thargoid Invasion Countdown will be started:
2) Thargoid Invasion Countdown: spawns additionas NHSS around the target station. It is slowed per destroyed Thargoid Vessel in the NHSS radius around the target station.
3) Scouting Mission Count: per succesful scouting mission this count raises. When the Scounting Mission Count equals the Thargoid Invasion Counter: the Thargoid Invasion Counter will get visible in game and it will be announced in public via GalNet that a Thargoid Attack Squad has been spotted and an attack on station XY will incur in approximatly z hours. Z is the time that remains when the Scout Mission Counter has equaled the Invasion Counter.

The final result would be the final Thargoid Attack!
A station under Thargoid Attack will spawn with several Thargoid attack craft in each instance for a set time (about 24 hours?). Another counter will track how many times human players managed to repel the Thargoid Attack.

The results could be interpreted like this:
- low succe srate: station burns... we already know this effect
- mid succes rate: an other attack wave will be launched in a random time-frame (more succesful scout missions will reveal the next timer)
- high succes rate: the Thargoid Attack was repelled. The station will not be attacked again for at least a month. Boom state is triggered. Heroic Gal Net article celebrates great victory.

This would result in following player activities being integrated in the process:
A) Gathering Thargoid Tech, Meta Allosys and Escape Pods - including hyperdictions and Thargoid encounters at barnacle sites
B) Fighting Thargoids in NHSS
C) Doing Scouting Missions
E) Fighting the Thargoid station attack
