Newcomer / Intro Thargoid Barnacles

I am at Sedesi base 800LY from home. Is there anything useful at the Thargoid barnacles here as there are lots of them on the planets in this system?

Only meta-alloys (shoot the spires) and a codex bonus (scan them with composition scanner).

Beware though, if a Thargoid Interceptor scans you with meta-alloys or other thargoid material in your cargo hold you've got 15 30 secs to jettison the stuff or else they may attack.

Are you sure?
After collecting meta-alloys for the first time for an engineer, i was intercepted in hyperspace, but just scanned.
I kept the cargo and could fly away unharmed.

To be honest I've seen the hostile responses only in HNSSs. When I was hyperdicted I assumed they would respond the same and didn't wait to see what would happen. IIRC in an NHSS when carrying meta-alloys the Interceptor kept staring at me after scanning me and got angry after some time when I didn't give up my meta-alloys.

Checked the AXI website for latest info. According to them they may become hostile if you don't drop your meta-alloys. So I was unlucky I guess.

I was interdicted while carrying 350 Tons of LTD to the next Starport.
Thank god they seem to have no interest in those, but boy was i scared to lose a bunch of credits...
