Thargoid Behavior?

OK, I was jumping into HIP 22460 and was pulled out of warp by two Thargoids. They didn't try to shut me down, they just pulled up about 400 meters in front. They just sat there like they were waiting for something. I moved forward and the red Interceptor pulled back, but the Cyclops let me approach and scan it with the Xeno Scanner. It just told me it was a cyclops varient. When my hardpoints were out the info window told me they put theirs out. I could repeat that by stowing and deploying hardpoints. I sat there for the longest time trying to do different scans and got tired of it and turned to pull away. The Thargoids immediately began to follow and took up position one off each wing and just paced me, like a formation. That went on for awhile and while I was trying to catch some video the one pulled in front of me and got bumped. They both immediately made a noise and turned red. I barely got out of there with 44% hull.

Is that normal behavior for them? I've not really encountered them much before and they never sat there like they were waiting for something. It would usually be one and after a bit would leave.

I named them Gray and Red. I tried to fly back and get it to happen again, but it wouldn't.

It's not a new behaviour, its a kind of bug: thargoids sometimes stuck with player ship after scan, following him till jump. Good chance to make some close-up screenshots.
Hmm, OK. I never heard of that. Though these two never did a scan of me like I've gotten when there is the one that is green that stops me. I was taking some video of the encounter because I like to make story videos for friends, I didn't think of some close up captures. That's a nice photo.

This often happens when you get hyperdicted by multiple thargoids. One of them is mean to act as the "primary" interceptor (emits the EMP and then comes and scans you) while the others maintain a constant distance. But sometimes, usually because you drift out of range after the EMP, the primary gives up and jumps out without performing the scan. The other interceptors then don't seem to know what to do and will just follow you around forever.

Just now I experienced the same, on the way from HIP 22460 to HR 1185, they hyperdicted me, I was ready to use field neutraliser - but no energy surge! They came closer, I was able to scan them 2 cyclops, one basilisk, but I had to drive fast to make the scan, because they always kept the same distance 501, 543, 548 m. If I fly forward they fly back and opposite, always same distances.
We stood like this 15-20 minutes, nothing happened.
