Thargoid cut scene plays every time - how do I stop it?

The title says it all really… every time I launch the game, the same cut scene always plays.

I can skip it, of course, but it’s really annoying - how do I switch this off?

[EDIT: Sadly, in this hysterial age of social media, I feel obliged to point out that “really annoying” was just an expression not meant to be taken literally. In the grand scheme of war, famine and poverty on the planet we live on outside Elite Dangerous… of course this is a very trivial annoyance, I’m not losing sleep, and I’m not hating on Elite Dangerous and my enjoyment of the game overall is impacted by about 0.0001%]

Probably because you have two types of people responding. Those willing to go fiddling with the game files and those who don't. If you don't want to go deleting stuff from your game files, that's your only option. Some people don't think it's worth going to the trouble of deleting stuff for.

you have 2 options (3 if you include the just dont load the game suggestion) both have been given to you, am not sure what else you want?

we all have different annoyance thresholds. IF the cutscene had not been skippable (and for a moment i thought it wasnt as i tried to skip it the very 1st time and you cant - i had already seen it elsewhere).

but had it not been skippable i would have been moaning with you, but it is so imo it is no big deal......
(it boggles me but some games do have unskippable cut scenes but thankfully elite isnt one of them once you get past 1st viewing)

Raise your annoyance level above 0?

Seriously, we have war, famine, floods in RL, and more seriously broken things in game and you are annoyed by having to click a mouse or press an extra key to skip a cutscene?

I think you deserve to be annoyed by "just hit Esc" posts.

Well, damned if they do, damned if they dont.

If the cutscene would be playing only for a limited time, someone that got his interest reignited in the game might not have access to the in game cutscene right now

As it is now, we have the choice to play the cutscene or skip it.
And having a choice is the best thing (IMO)
