Thargoid Debris in mail slot of Abe Lincoln station?

I left the Lincoln this morning in Sol, and as I passed through the mail slot on auto launch, there was debris, looked like Thargoid pieces, just outside the slot. Several were pretty large and I hit one, though no damage.

Is that a known thing?

Usually the debris in mail slots is the remains of an NPC who the station gunners took a dislike to. Some ships debris can look odd, at a casual glance.
