These were not AI opponents that SDC faced. David Braben has bought Area 51, and the aliens contained within. He has them flying the Thargoid ships..

I agree.

It might be valid to argue about the positive effect one part of the community has on the rest, but even that is subjective based on what's important to the majority.

But certainly, criticism of the amount of 'effort' the two respective groups have put in is pointless. The effort is huge from the Canonn and those who contribute to its work without being members; but so is the SDCs in what they do.

And they do share - that does matter, even if you don't always agree with what it is they're sharing!

In this case, this is absolutely relevant to everyone; and very useful.

The SDC do also contribute to regular Canonn work, from time to time. Harry Potter(does he ever log of?) was actually the first PC commander to document a Thargoid USS with destroyed Fed ships. :)

You know what? That video that 'Arry posted was the most entertaining dogfight ive ever seen on ED.

Ive never seen anything like that in another computer game.

Now - you all know im usually a whiney B****H to FD. But my hat is off. In fact I wanted to B***h this evening. But my mouth is shut.

Destiny comes to mind, their raid bosses having similiar mechanics to this. But definitely hats off to FD for creating something very new and unique to ED.
