Thargoid encounters

Can we give the Thargoids a buff? Yes they're a handful one on one, but we've seen the remains of entire battle groups in tatters from just one...please FDev make them harder to fight!

Could you explain what you mean by "harder to fight"?

From what I've read we can't really damage those ships. Looks to me like we can't fight the Thargoids making fighting them harder a strange concept.
 
Higher damage output.

A higher damage output wouldn't make the "fight" harder (just increasing DPS, without adjusting movement and other things). It would just require better modules and not better tactics.

Hopefully the moment we can actually fight Thargoids their will get better at combat and don't simply rely on "more" - more damage and more defense.

The difference between ships in ED is so ridiculous high that this will, in my opinion, be extremely difficult to implement for FD.

FD painted themselves into a corner with SCB, HRP, MRP and engineers.

Yeah, this is exactly it. There's such a huge difference in ability between an unengineered Sidey/Eagle and a fully engineered Corvette/FDL etc. that it's extremely difficult to make balanced NPC combat for both. Challenging combat for the latter would be insta-death for the former. And newbies learn little from one-shot deaths.

(IMO, they need to have a bigger variance in danger between different signal sources/factions/systems/regions. Let there be relatively safe areas and pirate bastions and let everyone choose their risk/reward level. Trying to auto-balance the danger level suits no-one).

I'm not sure how it'll work with the Thargoids, there only seems to be one type (thus far) with no Harmless..Elite variants. And they interdict us, meaning newbies can't really opt out of combat (or can they, by avoiding the Pleiades?)

and would wipe all ships bar the cutter and covette and conda as useless in the game as they inherently can take more damage,




just fly an eagle / sidewinder / adder, that will increase the difficulty for you.
