Thargoid-Guardian planet?

This new site has many implications. sadly our scanners can't do proper archaeological or forensic scans. I'd like to know why there weren't any scavengers around the thargoid crash sites. From what I could tell, it looks like a Thargoid scouting party bit off more than they could chew. And did anyone else see that Guardian door that looks perfect for an SRV? I tried feeding it a Relic, Tablet, and every other artifact in the site and nothing. It could be something we've yet to figure out.

Another point I'd like to mention is that the Alliance and Aegis were far too adamant about gaining artifacts from the site. Given the history of both organizations involving Xeno information, I don't think it's good for the galaxy to give them any more influence over anything xeno related seeing as how their primary goal is always weaponization and commercialization of technology we don't fully understand. Dormant AI? More like sleeping. Everything wakes up eventually, nothing in this galaxy stays the same forever, even physics.

The new site isn't new. It's same layout we've seen before
People keep saying this, I don't understand why.
It is in a previously undiscovered location, that makes it a new site. Same old Alpha and Squid pattern layouts, new site.

Replying to OP: I find it interesting there are no brain trees, and seemingly no other sites within 100ly of Trapezium Sector YU-X c1-2 and outside the nearby permit locked sectors.
Speaking of permit locked sectors, I also find it odd that the horsehead dark zone and Col 70 sectors are still permit locked, despite Fdev clearly expecting us to go out there and scour the area.
Given recent irl events, it feels like Fdev started this hunt before finishing the relevant discovery content.
Or perhaps we're simply discovering that most of the sites were destroyed by Thargs and the one we found in YU-X c1-2 is one of the only remaining sites... although the lack of interceptor crashes around the ruins site would indicate that the ruins are newer than the structure, and were not involved in the conflict (Standing theory is that the ruins are shrines honoring the fallen Guardians (btw I'm sick of this cheesy uninspired name for them))

Precisely because it is the same layout. That's why I said it isn't new. There's nothing really new about it, in terms of what can be discovered at the site. They speculated about the door, but that's been looked into, literally.

I share the frustration, just not the word choice. New location = New site, even if the layout is the same boring thing we've scoured dozens of times before.

I'm itching for new content for the Guardians and Thargoids... Hell, I'm just itching for new content. (Not that on-foot combat isn't new for Elite, but it's been done in other games)
Scanning surface plants is for geeks, investigating deadly underground xenological ruins is for us Elites.

if you are following the other threads about this site, you will see a number of theories about it which makes it different too.

there are what seems like at least a couple story lines tying together from this.
possibly more..
Unit 01. has been partially successful.
aegis = bad = power politics greed.
salvation, I think is unit 01.
it has access to comms, universaly.
seems robotic, so preferably unit 01 than the killer guardian ai.

point for me is this appears to be an important historic site.
things happened here a very long time ago, and now we are here too.
and if we can complete some portion of lore here, we might get something new from it.

and there are more things that are not at the site, things from other sites.

weapons are hinted at, data(info) is hinted at.
hopefully we get something enlightening at least.

no scavengers because this is not a world the thargoids seeded.
seeded worlds have scavengers there repairing the base and all the other parts that got damaged.

My thoughts are they were launched from orbit, spun deep into the surface and started to grow.
damage from impact is great, but then its a thargoid factory and was likely never expected to fly again.
the scavengers are bored to tears and do what robots do...

the first time I saw a barnacle up close, I knew why there was fighting. we are attacking, stealing, killing young.
even if its not young, it is clearly marked with an emblem that we all know. this is manufactured/grown.
and huge and growing.

btw
my thoughts on our situation is we are like caterpillars in a giants lettuce patch. with similar analogy applied to the tech difference as well.
meaning we need to learn to make peace(heh) or kill them all or gtfot fast.

seems people leading us to this are either dead or missing or left for better places. opting for the gtfot plan.

unlike the history in stargate atlantis, if there are similarities and we are/were once the guardians...this does not bode well.
why did we end up in the middle of the pumpkin patch that belongs to a race that is older than anything we know?

when you started the game and you used your fsd, did you know it was from stolen thargoid tech.
when engineering came in, did you notice the emblem on the barnacle.
that we needed to steal something from.

I say fight or peace, never run or surrender.
there is no running, we are all using stolen tech from prisoners of war. besides we are the ants at this picnic.
and ofc history repeats itself..
