Thargoid incursion background sim change

Just talked about it on the live stream.

Random systems attacked by Thargoids like now but with stations being damaged if you don't kill enough goids. If you kill enough goids then things get better...

Inc Thargoid conflict zones too.

Incursion is a new background sim state.

Sounds great, I really hope we don't get a fine and face full of station turret cascades for shooting inside the NFZ.
 
My second account is now "living" on a MegaShip. Maybe I should get some popcorn and keep an escape pod handy?

Is this currently active or arriving in the next patch?
 
Yep this is some good news since attacked systems never felt in real danger...with the new scenarios & conflict zone war will feel closer !

Now get them in SC . Make me feel threatened when I am in a Thargoid inhabited (or assaulted) system.
 
Haven't thargoided at all in this game, but you need dedicated builds to fight them, right? And those builds don't do so well in PvP, do they? I like where this is going.

It will probably play out bad and rather frustrating.

The numbers for the required repair commodities will probably be 10-100 times higher than anybody can deliver and about 2x higher than the entire supply of that commodity in the bubble. For one station.

The number of Thargoids that have to be killed will probably way to high for anybody to reach it.

It will probably take FDev 2-3 month to adjust the numbers from "completely impossible" to "just completely insane" and then some more time to tone it down to "doable if everybody helps".

Sounds good, but will we ever get some sort of thargoid interaction beyond just shooting them?
I mean, this is definitely a nice improvement to the combat side, but I'm still hoping for something a bit more for the science and exploration guys to do involving thargoids, please :)
