Thargoid invasion - implications for explorers and other non-combatants?

I'm about to set off on a long trip and I'm definitely going to try and bring some of those anti-Thargoid EMP devices with me. There may be no aliens out in the black at the launch of 2.4, but who knows where they'll be over the course of the next few months? At least then I'll have the option to flee if confronted.

I suppose I should have known about this update and what in entailed before I set off but I somehow missed it!

Anyhow I'm nearly at Beagle and not likely to get back to the bubble for quite some while, so I have questions:

  1. When 2.4 drops can I expect to be interdicted by Thargoids waaaaaay out here near Beagle, in other words what is the theatre of battle for the Thargoid action?
  2. Will there even be a bubble to come back to?
  3. If there is can I expect to get my behind handed to me by a blockade of Thargoids as soon as I get near?
  4. Will Colonia be safe?
  5. Will my major assets stored in the core systems be safe?
  6. When I get back, hopefully the war will still be going and I will be able to join in. Will my absence have deprived me of access to any special anti-Thargoid weapons/equipment or will I be able to purchase this stuff when I do get back?
  7. Will my Cat have died or will my neighbours in the Haxel Port condo's realised I went away and have been feeding it? (I'm sure I dropped them a note :S)

:)

  1. I cant even get interdicted right in the thick of it - I wouldn't worry
  2. Yes thargoids are friends
  3. there will be a long wait and RNG to see them...
  4. yeah why not
  5. yeah why not
  6. yes unless you live in elite 247 or live under a rock there will be spoilers and missed content =/
  7. The cat will be replaced with a cat of equal value after an accident but they will pass it off as your own cat, problem is you will never be 100% sure If its really your cat or a look alike.

Loved the background story! Reped. How does flying a Vette for exploration compare? No quick return to the bubble in one of those!

Thank you :)

The Corvette has better supercruise handling than the Conda, the only downside really is jump range, and equipped the way I have it, a Conda wouldn't jump all that much further anyway. Like a big Python but much easier to get the SRV out of ;)

If a thargoid disables my ship I'm as vunerable as anyone else but I'm ready if other scenarios (that don't require new equipment) come up.

How can it be an invasion if the cult of the artifact welcomes them

All hail the artifact , for the past years we tried to convert as many people ,systems and stations to the faith of the ancients.
We failed humanity resisted and converted our temples back to ordinary stations .
Now our overlords are comming and we welcome them to cleanse the bubble of the non believers and warlike nature of humanity.
Let us rejoise on the comming purge and rebuild a new eden.
We will be watching from our temples how the thargoids how you call them reshape the Bubble to a more piece full place.
