Thargoid Site in VR

I've been playing the games since kickstarter, and in VR for the last 2-3 years, but have never visited a Thargoid site in VR before.
They are stunning! The shear scale of the things is quite astounding. I now can't wait until Odyssey to try it out on foot, even if it does have to be via 3rd person camera thingy :(

It would appear you can also get inside the structures now, without having to have any 'Thargoidy' in your SRV - is that new, or a bug?

2 days to go :)

I don’t know if it’s a bug, but it’d be cool if not - I had a VR drive through one of the structures a year or two ago and it was suitably creepy. Think I’ll be following your example and having a VR wander through again but this time on foot, though I’ll be stepping “into” my avatar for a bit more of a first-person view 👍

Still have my doubts about the space legs and VR, but I've never seen a Thargoid site structure, so thanks for reminding me. I'll get that one off my bucket list right away :)

Btw. I don't get the hype about wandering around to get a sense of size. I've been using the "camera drone" in VR for that since I started playing the game. I already knew that the steps on the stairs leading into the Cutter are (too) tall.

Yes, but the hitboxes of the ships are quite annoying in free camera mode. I can't get to a proper distance.

bit of advice - if you want to trigger the main Thargoid 'custsecne' for want of a better word - make sure you have a corrosion proof rack for your SRV. I forgot - so am going to try and get one, and then go back

I never managed to get the separate items needed to trigger the Starmap, so I might just have to do as you suggest!

I didn't know there is such a thing for the srv. I only know about resistant cargo racks for the ship. Where do you get resistant srvs?
It's distinctly possible I'm talking out of my 'elbow' - I thought I'd read about this, but am now seriously doubting myself. Perhaps it was a wine induced dream (Highly probable)

I'll now dredge the forums, and check. Either way - A visit to the Thargoid site is a must in VR.

Okay so it looks like I was talking rubbish - but you will need your ship resistant rack to get the right objects

EDIT: Despite me talking cack about SRV racks - the place is still a must visit. I'll go back with the 3 objects, once I've got the ship rack sorted, and see how I get on
